On the advice from the forum I bought a New Casio FH100, Gorilla Pod and an 8GB Class 10 card for filming golf swings.  As a former instructor I have had some very expensive systems like JC and the Model Golf platform and they were great to use but cumbersome.

This set up shooting video at number of shutters speeds is truly too simple and easy to use.  After initially struggling with the camera to set it from Japanese to English it has been very easy to figure it out.  I downloaded the manual from Casio because mine was in Japanese.

The process of filming, editing and downloading video takes only minutes to learn.  The gorilla pod attaches to my bag and set behind me on the range or facing me I was able to get video that was very useful.

Anyway, I'd recommend this set-up to anyone.  For the record I paid 229.00 for the camera, 9.99 for the gorilla pod, and around 10.00 for the card.

Happy filming,

Joe

Which size Gorilla did you get for the FH100?  I use the small one with my smaller/cheaper Casio.

It's really tiny, it measures 6.5 inches from top to bottom

I've got a Casio EX-FH25 which I'm happy with.  It takes great slow motion videos.  You just need good lighting for it.  I used a high powered halogen light in my garage with good results.

Yep, awesome set up.

I shoot enough video to capture 4-6 swings, then stop the recording.

Start back, record 4-6 swings, then stop.

After 3-4 time of doing this, I am done.

I then can find the best representative swing and delete all the data  before and after.

Upon doing so, I get home with those 3-4 swings and nothing else.

Plug them, or one of them, into V1, Youtube, etc.. and I am done.

Couldn't be simpler.

Glad to hear it.  I have an EX-FH100 on the way (should be here Friday) and my GorillaPod showed up today.  I have a GorillaPod for my HD Camcorder (bigger GP model for the bigger/heavier camera).  I bought the original GorillaPod for the FH100.

Can't wait... think I'm going to buy Analyzr Student version.

I got a refurbished one off of Ebay for $189 in December. You just have to keep a watchful eye on all the auctions.

I got mine new off of EBAY from Japan.  The same seller a week later bumped his price 80.00 per camera....I wonder if we are creating demand for something that was largely just sitting around?

Keep in mind if you are accidentally searching on Amazon and such for last years model, it can often be more expensive. Makes no sense, but it depends on who is selling it. I only buy directly from Amazon. Be sure you are searching for the current, or near current model. Oddly enough, the older model will often be pricey.

The older model is what many are looking for.

Got mine off Amazon.com from seller...Asuka Japan...beware! After a day mine will not power up. Get the message "lens error". Googled "lens error' and found out that means...throw it in the garbage. The repair is a complete lens barrel assembly at a cost greater than original. Hope everyone else that bought a grey market has better luck.

I am sorry to hear that, do you have any recourse with the seller?  I'd be lost without mine, video work is important to me and I need to see what I am doing.

I sent this to some of you guys but check out "camerasupply" on eBay.  It is Fort Worth Camera in Fort Worth, TX.  I picked up an EX-FH100 brand new for less than $150 w/ shipping last week on eBay.  They don't have anymore listed on eBay currently but they have them at $279.99 on their website, which isn't a bad deal either.

I don't have any affiliation with Fort Worth Camera and am not vouching for them or anything, just a good deal.  I'll report back when mine arrives.

Those in the know, would you recommend a new EX-FH100 or a used FH 20 for the same price

Not sure if they were when I posted that but makes sense if they were trying to clear them out. I know they sold 8 in about 2 hours on eBay.
