NG don't listen to these guys. Give him a break lads! He is changing his clubs, who cares? He has commitment and dedication to the game so why do you guys constantly bash him?

I know a lot of it is people looking out for me and trying to be helpful and all, but some is not.
IF I do change, I am going to a 13-15 fairway and a 17-19 hybrid, probably i20 for both if I do.

That would be a good change. I've heard nothing but positives for the i-20 woods... I've struggled with a 3 iron in my career, so hybrid is the way to go for me for now, so much more forgiving and versatile... I wish I could hit a 3 iron, love the concept..

So did I, but I made the best decision, I won't go into it because both are top quality coaches and the best in the state, but money was an issue as with just me making a choice based on factors that I took my time to consider.

I expect to have my swing closer to where it needs to be by the weekend and I will post some videos but this change is going to take a little longer than the old ones would since we are changing a few more things getting me out of some old moves.
I am going to try to get up to the range before it gets too hot tomorrow and get a video of me hitting some balls, I got a new toy called a Jobe Gorilla Pod, a tripod with bendy legs for my iPhone so I can wrap the legs around something and record my swing with no twitch of a friends hand or something, perfectly steady, which will make it easy to see what I am doing in between lessons.

I do like the RBZ fairway food and it is very reliable, I just want a little more bang off the tee and ground, opening up options on second shots on par 5's from 250-270 with a normal swing and then a stronger hybrid for 220-240 versus a slower swing on my RBZ that I don't feel as comfortable with, but I probably won't be making this change very soon unless my buddy actually comes through and buys my RBZ, it's for sale by the way so if anyone wants it PM me and I will give you a price and plenty of pics.

Why not just pick up another shaft for the RBZ? You could get a Kai'li 80x for < $100 and that is a fantastic combo with that head. You'd just have to have it shimmed in because I believe that RBZ has a .350 hosel.

I thought that over, considered a new shaft, but if I'm going to spend money I will kill two birds by getting a stronger lofted fairway wood to give me a little more distance off the tee and deck and then allow me to use a hybrid for the shots where now I have to baby the RBZ which is hard for me to do.

I guess so but if you like the RBZ then why not reshaft it? You'll probably pick up a fair amount of distance while saving some cash as well..

I was just messing with you about the hook comment.   What I was hitting my last round was definitely a hook, though!  I am really interested to see how good you can get and I think most of us are a little jealous as well.  I WISH I had the same time and resources to practice, play, and learn as you do.    You are definitely blessed.

Yes, I really do have it made for Golf.. If I don't get a scholarship I have nobody to blame but my self.
I want to have colleges looking at me by my junior year.

One thing strange about my game right now is that I am hitting these little controlled draws with my irons, but with this swing change I am spraying my driver all over, I want to try and get that figured out today.

keep your grades up newgen! thats a huge part of a scholarship, and play tons of junior tournament, and try to play in a couple ajga tournaments if you can, all that matters imo to colleges, is what you can shoot under pressure, and not having many off rounds, and your gpa. good luck!

Yeah my grades were not the greatest this year but I passed everything.
I just played 9 and I don't think I could spray the ball any more but at least I'll see my coach later.. I get over the ball and I can't commit so I make some awful swing.

Made a ton of progress today with my coach, and playing 18 tomorrow morning.
This swing makes so much more sense to me.

They weren't too bad, I just don't want anything below a 75 next year.. I know plenty of kids with 2.6 and up GPA's getting full rides so I'm going to aim for a 3.0 next year, I just don't worry too much as long as I'm passing..

I made a call and am getting a new shaft for A fairway wood, but I don't know if I'm going to get my buddies SFTP 2.0 in 13.5* or keep my RBZ.

Thats a bad way to look at IMO. Think about it, say you and another golfer are being looked at by a coach and your skills, accomplishments are similar. He has a 3.6  and you have a 3.0 gpa. It could be a deal breaker. Work hard in the classroom and on the course and you could find yourself with a nice scholarship man. Keep it up.

I'm not that kind of student honestly, I am awful at math and I can do decently in everything else, but I just spend all my time on the course.
