Yes definitely, I would love to get my shortgame alot better, I think the 60 is pretty pointless especially if you don't play on fast greens, but it's good out of bunkers so I'm going to keep it in the bag until I replace my wedges. I think the 56 is pretty great, I can open it up, close it down, leave it square, and I am really getting a feel for it just need to keep that up.

As far as putting is going, well, I didn't putt well today, I think I'm a slow putter.. I have a slow routine, using a line on the ball to get lined up correctly, and then reading everything twice.. I just wish I was a faster more confident putter especially in twilight rounds like today where I feel like it's a burden to take all that time to get lined up and try to make the putts.. Guess I'll just have to be slow.. I'm going to go back to a normal putter eventually, not soon, but one day. I don't plan on using a belly putter forever of course. Although, right now it's been a bit easier to putt with than a normal putter.

There was a short game practice routine on here somewhere. Let me see if I can find it. Its from the Wake Forrest golf team and its a good routine to improve putting and shortgame.

Sounds very helpful..
I had unconsciously moved to a very weak grip, strengthened it a bit (still on the neutral/weak side) and went out and shot a 41 on the par 36 back 9 of my home course.
I need to get new videos because I have made a few changes..

Im also in the middle of a grip change, feels weird as hell. But I had a lanny wadkins weak grip ... so now im like duval with my driver.

Driver started going straight
Irons are going left
and shortgame is going to need some real work.

ohwell going stronger makes my swing feel more effortless instead of forcing to square the head.

I was hitting 5-10 yard fades.. Now hitting straight to draws. Driver was the biggest difference to me but it's all going to get smooth as soon as I have more range time.

I think he's just trying to say that if your not worrying about technical things like when the shaft is going to release or what settings you should use then you play better. I am pretty similar to you in that i tend to get hung up on that stuff. I started last year too and my first 9 hole score was 88 after that I was breaking 40 in like 4 months time then I became a club ho it slowed me down pretty bad for about the time from october to march then I got my bag all set and now I average about 2 or 3 over on 9 holes bout an 8 or 9 handicap but I dont have one official yet. Your swing looks great get comfortable with your 40 yd and in game and you will be rock solid depending on how tough your league is all conference contender. Btw if you want a little fun with your short game try meddling with a 64 degree. Oops there is the club ho in me :) Have fun

Had a lesson today, making some changes. New grip is natural now. I shot a 44 with my changed swing after the lesson with some bad shots, just need to do a lot of work getting these changes down.
I'll post new videos once I feel that I have made the changes properly.

Just shot a 42 with some buddies of mine ( a senior on the golf team and a guy who graduated last year )

I have been changing my swing a good bit and it definitely needs more work but I'll throw a driver vid up, I had an iron video but I'm not happy with the swing in progress yet, should be refined some by the weekend.. Hard to keep making changes but soon I'll be done..

On the 18th hole of the back nine at my course, I had an awesome birdie, I hit a drive dead straight down the pipe to 300 yards exactly, 242 in on the 542 hole..
Hit my 4 wood pin high right of the hole, uphill from the green in some woodchips, I took my 60 and pitched it out, to about 8 feet, pretty good from there.. Drained the putt..  :)

I feel like I am making rapid progress toward getting better. Working on getting a more inside out swing with my coach, and that's not exactly easy, but I'll get it..

I'm overswinging a bit in this video but I shortened it back up after my camera man left.. (Dad)

Pretty good day for a monday..

Pretty good day for a monday..

Swing look pretty good man, and Im loving that i20 setup.

One thing I noticed in your FO on vid that you may want to work on with your swing coach is that you sway a bit off the ball with your lower body and at the top of your swing you are shooting your right knee outward, getting a lot of your weight outside your right foot, something you never want to do. Pause your clip right at the 0:05-0:06 mark and you can see what I mean. Work on turning your hips more so in a "barrel" and retaining the pressure in the inside of your right foot at the top of your swing.

I also noticed you come up a bit onto your toes through impact; something a lot of junior golfers do. Try to establish your pivot point onto your left side by really feeling you are pressuring your left heel into the ground in your transition.  You should pick up some yardage and your consistency should improve as well.

Keep it up man!

Yeah I'm in a swing change so I was focusing more on swing plane, I know my foot came up but I don't do that at all, I was trying to swing more outside and that made me dip my head some too and the knee thing was also something I don't usually do.. That was just a crappy swing session working on the plane.

I was going to get more videos today but it's very wet outside..

Definitely fixed all the above mentioned problems today, I am still getting comfortable with the swing, needs more work, I'm going to shorten my driver to 44.5 and throw a VDR on it..

I went back to the range since I live a mile away from the club, the turf had dried up a bit, and I am feeling like the new swing is getting alot better, it's still not natural having the club inside and a bit flatter, but the results do not lie..

It's getting alot better, I have a teacher though so I'm not looking for help on here. My technique is less of the problem, I typically mess up the chips when I get nervous.. It's getting alot better and the scores are dropping.

Pointers couldn't hurt though NG.. I dare say that there are people on here that are as knowledgable as your teacher, if not more so.

I'm not trying to knock your teacher or tell you what to do, I'm just trying to offer a bit of advice.

What I'm trying to get across is, I pay someone to tell me to do it how they feel is best for me from what he sees.. So I am not going to just take all the tips I get on here because that would not help me, that would hurt me.

I also know that when you take advice from multiple sources it never ends well.

I see what you're trying to get across but you missed my point entirely.

Oh well, good luck to you. You seem be improving a ton.. I enjoy checking in on this thread and seeing your scores. Hope you're in the 30's soon..

I guess I did... I am going to try to get more videos up today if I can showing my swing without all the little errors that I had. The inside out plane adds some yardage without more effort because I get more lag from it I guess. The slight draw can help too..

Well if you do post a new video, make sure to put in all caps and bold that you absolutely want no tips or advice on improving your swing. That way we all know to admire the video and make no comments.

+1. I've been following this thread and holding off because I'm new to the forums, but you've hit the nail on the head. Why post swing videos and get really defensive when people comment on it?

When you post videos of your swing on a forum dedicated to golf, expect to get feedback.  Whether you want it or not, it's going to happen.  If you're not interested in hearing any feedback, then stop posting videos.  It's as simple as that.
