Had this club for about 3 years now and love it.  18 with rifle 5.5.  I have a driver swing speed of about 118 and thought the 5.5 would be too soft but it actually fits very well.  I can swing easier and get a good pop and still get enough accuracy from the steel.

This club is great.  Minimal offset and no frills really.  Very basic hybrid from the early days.  I haven't found a better one for myself yet but would like to try the Adams.

Trajectory and distance, those are largely shaft related issues.  I do find it to be more of a players club, not too forgiving.  Good distance and good control.  Ball doesn't balloon and the club does allow me to work it a bit.

Overall 4.5/5.0.

ah3000 - what shafts do you play in your irons?  was thinking of rifle for my 17 585h.  have s300 in my irons and 21 degree 585h but need a little more height in the 17.  Did you use hybrid specific rifle or an iron shaft?

Thx

Picked one up on eBay for $28...first hybrid I've owned so I can't really compare to anything.  With that said, this club has kicked the three and five woods out of the bag, won't be trying any other hybrids anytime soon, perfect club.

I had this club originally with an X-100 steel shaft in it and fell in love with it.  It had a beautiful penetrating ball flight of the tee and was fairly easy to get out of the rough. But one day I decided to reshaft it with an Aldila NV 85 Stiff hybrid shaft to pursue more accuracy and now I can't hit  this thing at all straight for the past year. I don't know if it was bad shaft combo for me or what, but it totally made me lose all confidence in the club and made me loath it. So I just sold it on Ebay for $50 and picked up a like new Adams Idea Pro Tour Prototype for $60.

The x100 shaft would have been more accurate, the aldila shaft would just have added distance! Anyways, I picked mine up for 36 bucks and it remains the best deal in my bag. Outperforms any other hybrid I have tried, and they have all been $100+. For the money, you absolutely cannot go wrong. Mine is shafted with the proforce v2 100x, which I think helps tremendously with keeping it from ballooning. From what I have heard, a low trajectory, low spin shaft combo is best for this head.
