Looking for specs on this shaft.  Is it tour only?  I assume that the beta is a higher launching than the alpha?  Any clue?

Just picked up an Adams A12 with this one installed...nit sure if it's what I was looking for...

Ok, called Aldila.  Not too much info...it is a true proto right now.  Rep said this one is off the tour van.

Said the Beta is a softer tip than the alpha (as expected), but still provides a mid-high kick and should be mid flight...for those who are interested.

Helpful information.  Thanks for posting this.

How did it play for you?

Do you know if it's going retail?

I have the 85x in my a7 hybrid. It took my yardage from 230 carry with the original shaft to a 245 carry. I hit two the first time out on a 371 yard par 4 to 122 & 112. When caught it goes as far as my 3 wood.

As for feel, mid kick point and stiffish butt. Feels nice though.

I play the alpha 85 stiff in my TM r11 hybrid.  How would u compare these two shafts?  is the beta tip stiff? Also, where did u find a beta hybrid shaft?

I haven't played the Alpha hybrid shaft. I've used the 60x in a driver though. I definitely wouldnt call it tip stiff. It has a pronounced kick at the bottom where it has a softer mid section.

I got mine off eBay. The next one I want to try is the Phenom 80x for my 22*.

I used to have the Alpha in my hybrid and have tried the Beta/Phenom too. It's not that significant of a difference to be honest, the Alpha isn't as low launch as they make you believe, it feels decent and is stable for sure. I actually really liked it. The biggest difference to me was feel through impact. In the Beta/Phenom, it just felt like there was a little more kick, but the ball flight was very similar, maybe a smidge higher, but that's it. No spin numbers though. Can't go wrong either way, IMO.
