I was today at a free Callaway Tour Van Experience and hit the RAZR Fit 8.5 in Scotsdale Troon North...Very nice people - I didn't liked the light shafts and they glued a x-stiff Diamana Blueboard 83 for Demo in a RAZR Fit sleeve forme just for the Demo! That's Customer Service... Since my mishit is a hook - look what I did with this shaft to optimize my launch numbers>Chris Launchmonitor 18 februar 2012 (1024x553).jpg I played just 2 times the last 2 month, so I swung very gentle, but I like the numbers. I hit some with 2400 backspin and the picis from the last hit - even the clubhead was a little open it doesn't balloon. Settings where neutral with 12gram on the toe and 2gram heel,8,5 degree with Diamana Blueboard 83 X-Stiff 3.0 torque mid to high kickpoint 81 gram weight...

Where I usally play is a lot of wind and I like a low boring trayectory - good fitting experience...

Really don't like being negative...but IMO, Callaway & Nike just don't do it for me...again, just an opinion...

I've never found a Nike club that made my bag.  The RAZR Hawk and the RAZR Fit both were outstanding products.  There's not much else in the Callaway line that interests me at this time.

Yeah...as long as you have the correct tool, I see no reason to experiment.  Just a few milimeters could easily strip a screw.

I ordered the RAZR Fit driver from Golfland Warehouse for $324.99 with free shipping.  Best deal I could find.

I felt the same way until I tried the RF driver and the Hex Black golf balls. I just recently bought a set of Callaway X Proto irons and like them a lot but for whatever reason I just dont like any of their  wedges.

I think I read somewhere that the R11 wrench is basically the same and can be used on the Razr Fit - can anyone confirm please?

Ive been using the white TM wrench without any issue. Just checked the screw threads in the sleeve, head screw and the weight screws and everything looks fine. Ive probably adjusted the shaft and weights over a dozen times.

Thanks

I suspect they are set up with a similar torque setting as well given that they are fairly similar systems

Yep. And with a wrench cover too. Lol. I wonder if there's a tour issue wrench or a tour authentic wrench? LOL

Is this accurate?
I was thinking of doing this tomorrow to mine as I am gripping down about 3/4" to get comfortable.

Last season I had a Burner 2.0 that was cut down an inch.  Original swingweight per TM and per my fitter was D10.  After cutting an inch off and replacing it with an undersized KZG grip it took it down to a C6.  That is 14 swingweights if my math is correct.  Downside is I couldn't feel the head anymore.
Wouldn't cutting a 1/2" off this RAZR fit take it down under a D0?

I work at a Callaway Studio and I have had four heads that have been d7.5 swingweight stock.  I have cut them down from 1/2 to 1 inch and all have maintained D2 or higher swingweights.  You should have no problem maintaing the swingweight with this driver.

Any chance you can find an extra tip/adaptor laying around?

Thanks for the confirmation.

The grip I plan to install is a Winn W3 undersized which is 38 grams and is lighter than the oem grip (55 grams) and should also help counter the swingweight loss.

Gents
I called Callaway today and asked them for a swing speed chart for the oem shaft.
They recommended (but also said its more of a feel/control thing)
75-85 mph A flex
86-95 mph R Flex

My driver speed is 84 on avg.
I took their advice and bought the Razr fit in the A flex.  It definitely feels very whippy, almost like a Ladies flex.

I was able to hit a 10.5 R flex on a monitor and actually saw some balls in the 220-231 range which is pretty long for me but launch was pretty low around 12-14*.  Unfortunately they did not have an A Flex 11.5* to demo which is what I bought at another shop.  And this shop did not have a monitor to hit from to try the one I bought out.

Did I make the right choice or should I have gone R flex ?

I have a hard time waiting for my RAZR Fit to arrive. Also excited about the kai'li, never hit it before, but reading all the positive comments, I thought it may be worth a try.

Come on CALLAWAY!! Send it out....

Shipped yesterday, will be here tomorrow!

Gotta get home from Frankfurt first though.  I guess, since I'm flying the jet, I'll just have to push 'em up a bit to get home faster. (cool)

I think a few asked but I never saw a reply....will there be an additional  weight kit available?   Also if you buy an aftermarket shaft from callaway will it have the sleeve already installed?

Tour Authentic is coming at the end of May and it will have a weight kit with it; 4, 6, 8 & 10 weights in addition to 2 and 12 in the driver.  It doesn't look like a weight kit will be available before that.

good call.  I had it cut down 1/2" to 45" and had the lighter winn grip put on it measured at D7.  Thanks for providing this information because prior to reading it I was really hesitant to ever cut down another driver for fear of losing too much sweight weight.
