I have the spinner shaft and I love it.  The combination spins more than any other wedge I've used, but I agree with the observation that I've lost a little bit of distance on full shots.

Here's the 2012 TVD 60* on the left and the Wedgeworks 254.10 on the right. The first thing that jumped out for me was how much closer the SM4 CC grooves are vs the previous generation of CC grooves, which were on the older TVDs as well (I had a 56* briefly). Also, it might be because they are different lofts, but the TVD has a much sharper toe, while the 200 is rounder.

Haven't hit either yet, going on a short golf trip this week, but will be taking my 52, 56, 60 X-Forged/Jaws for that.

I don't really NEED anymore spin, but if it makes it easier to flip one up there with some spin, then I might be interested.

You don't need the spinner shafts with the new SM4 grooves, they are that good. Stick with your S400's, as IMO they are better on full shots.

Had to pull the trigger on some "customized" TVD demo's from a local shop for $50 a piece.  Barely used being lefty, cleaned them up and they basically look brand new, can't wait to try them out.  Got a 52 and 60, 52 came with a KBS black nickel shaft which looks pretty cool.

thanks for the info. still confused. i want a low bounce option in a 52 and 56. which grind will help me dig the most?

OB1 - I'm sure they're about the same offset. That's not something you need to worry about on a wedge - it's not a big deal.

How are you confused on the link of the grinds? It's pretty self-explanatory. You need to know what kind of turf interaction you need due to your ball-striking, as well as the amount of bounce (or lack thereof) needed for your climate and local courses.

Hey lefty- my question was what is the difference between the sm4 and the TVD? i saw a bunch of choices ( M grind, full sole) stuff like that and didnt really understand. im looking for a 52 and a 56 degree wedge coming from my spin milled vokeys. i prefer lower bounce maybe a mid.  does the TVD have the same options and how does it play differently from the SM4? thanks

Last week I got a 60 degree TVD SM4 (M grind) from Vokey.  Pretty much took it straight to the course without much practice.  The thing is beautiful and feels great.  Coming from a Mizuno MP T-series 60.  I've played two rounds with it - probably hitting it in more places than I normally would - and am finding the ball (Bridgestone 330S) goes much further with less swing.  Hitting 3/4 swing 100 yards, full swing the same distance as my 56.  Decided on the X100 stock shaft, but is there a reason for the extra distance?  I've switched 60's before with no noticeable difference.  If it is just a period of adjustment for me, I'm fine with that.  I haven't hit a terrible shot with it yet, just way too damn far, but the yardage thing is getting in my head.  Any experience with this happening?

Can anyone tell me the difference bewteen the SM4 58*  L-grind with 6* of bounce and the TVD M grind 8* of bounce?
Currently very much in between te SM4 L-grind, the SM4 M grind (12*) and the TVD 58*?
Any suggestions, i am a digger in full shots, but still does not need that much of bounce on partial shots.
Furthermore, generally speaking there is not much difference between the M grind and the TVD M-grind am i right?

i ordered, received and played with my 52/56 TVD with KBS Tour shafts and absolutely love them. They look great, and perform better. The brushed chrome and no stampings looks awesome. good luck

Ive ordered my 200.50 no stampings and TVD 54 bent 1* weak no stampings. They look great customised but I love the clean simple looks of them too.

Went for the 200 series CC in the 50* didnt want crazy spin on those shots in.

Should have them next week just got shipping confirmation ill post some pics when they arrive! :-)

I have the 200.50 and 200.54, both with the CC grooves, and a TVD60 with the SM4 CC grooves, all are great wedges. Like you, mine have no stampings at all, and I agree clean is the way to go. Enjoy them and do post thoughts when you get them in.

I am seriously looking at a new set of TVD to put in the bag this year.  Sounds like a 200 50 followed by a TVD 56 and 60.  Curious, to know if Bob makes the lie angle flatter on the TVD wedges (I ask because fitters recommend flatter lie angles on wedges than your irons).  Also, can anyone compare a S400 to KBS wedge shaft (not spinner).  Thanks.

Did you ever pickup the tvd? I currently have a 252/08 & sm56/14 & sm60/04...looking to upgrade also go a little higher on my 60 bounce also might move from 52 to 50 bc my 695cb pw is 46? I a little steep wouldnt consider a digger but def error on the side of fat shots also play mostly in northeast where condition are mostly medium to soft?
