I believe the TVDs are a mid bounce club. Around 8 I think. I don't like a lot of bounce and love these wedges. Can hit nearly any shot and tight lies are no problem at all. If they had a lot of bounce, those tight lies would be tough.

But why can't you just take a 4* and play that? I have 3 60* wedges, 2 60.04 and 1 60.08 and while the 60.08 is okay for me, the 60.04 is great. I can feel the 60.08 bouncing (which I guess it's supposed to do) but it feels weird to me so I'm trying to figure out whether the 8 degrees of bounce on the TVD will feel the same way without buying one, if that is even the right move.

I should also mention that it doesn't matter the conditions I play in, wet, dry, firm, soft, I can play with 4* bounce in any condition as I grew up playing it for years. I would in reality prefer less bounce because I never **NEVER** dig or hit a shot fat with the 60.04 and feel that bounce sometimes when I don't want it to. So, would a TVD be for somebody who can't "play" a 60.04? I mean play loosely as in obviously can hit it, but digs with flop shots or bounces of the ground with a higher bounced wedge or hits fat from time to time as the extra bounce would aid them.

I hear what you are saying, but there is more to the TVD than just the bounce. Added relief near the heel and other stuff I can't remember off the top of my head. I used to play in soft conditions in the south and had no problems. I am a digger. Today I was on the range an it was really wet. Had to adjust a little because these were digging just a bit much. I love these wedges as I feel they are very versatile. To each his own...

Here are my 56/60. I also have a 52° that looks very similar. I noticed that they just released the 50°. These wedges are unreal- the grind, bounce and finish just fit me perfectly.

Great black oxide TVDs Scratchswinger.  Did you just put in your notes when you ordered the wedges that you wanted the snowflake dots along with your initials?

I have a 246-06 to go along with my TVD 50, 52, 54, and 58. I actually like having the C-C grooves in the 46.  If they had SM4, I'd have issues with too much spin.

I have the black oxide TVDs. Can these be coked or put in vinegar or anything? I want to strip the gold paint out of the wedges and refill with another color, so I figured I'd try to take them more raw at the same time.

Just got my tvd 58 degree and I like it.  I like the minimal looks.  What disappointed me was I would have liked the chrome that the retail sm4 has.  Oh well

So DD is selling these at the same price as SM4's?  Can someone confirm please?  I might need to order a 50, 54, 58 if so.

What is the difference between the SM4 and SM4 TVD, especially in the 58*? Does anyone know? I'm sure it has to do with the difference between grinds.. The main reason I'm getting rid of my 60* is because it doesn't have a very playable grind.. The stock SM4 58.09 has a grind, too..

SM4 58* has 3 options:
1)  6*  bounce w/ "L" grind
2)  9*  bounce w/ "S" grind
3)  12* bounce w/  "M" grind

TVD SM4 58* has:
   1)  8* bounce w/ "M" grind

I got the SM4 54.11 w/ the "M" grind and the TVD SM4 58* to get the bounce/grind I wanted.

FYI:   There's no up-charge for the GP New Decade grip on the TVD SM4 but there is an $6 up-charge on the SM4, so the TVD SM4 ended up being only $4 more than the SM4!

The SM4 grooves are far superior. I can easily tell both from my experience and also confirmed from my Titleist rep. The cc grooves were junk. The only thing that ever knocked Vokeys out of my bag were those terrible grooves.

Does anyone have a side by side pics of both the 200 series and the TVD? I currently play a 256, but I'm wondering how similar the teardrop shape is to the TVD.

If you wait a bit, I can get a comparison between my 254 and TVD 60, which should be here in a week. I'm sure someone else might have something though.

Look at this thread http://www.golfwrx.c...vdsstampedsnow/ I posted some before and after pictures of the PVD vs Raw. The PVD looks very similar after use, I think thats why there is no Oil Can.

The TVD wedges(2012) have the SM4 grooves.

"The TVD 52 forward bounce surface features moderate width with enhanced camber, allowing the club face to easily pivot around the center for versatility in both open and closed playing positions. The moderate effective bounce makes the TVD 52 an excellent all condition wedge. This wedge features the new SM4 conforming grooves."

Those that have the spinners in them, how do you like them, and what did you use prior?

I have S400's in mine now, but I'll need a new set after this year. Mine are rusting all to hell, and the faces are worn after 2 years of heavy, heavy use.

I don't really NEED anymore spin, but if it makes it easier to flip one up there with some spin, then I might be interested.
