Is anyone else's a really dark brown? It looks black in some light and dark brown in others. I am not complaining, just asking.

Yes, my Newport 2 is also a deep brown under certain lighting conditions, however in natural light it has a dark charcoal look to it. Fortunately, I haven't seen the rainbowing effect that others have been discussing on this forum.

Spent the last few days playing with paintfill and I can report acetone/white spirit/rubbing alcohol etc has no effect on the finish. It does scrape very easily though, as you would expect being a PVD.

Quick question for you guys.  If I buy a 34inch  newport 1.5 1st of 500 putter and cut it down to 33 inches it will still be appropriate weight correct?  Since it already has the 20g weights in it

We are so used to Cameron's being 360 grams at 33 inches and 350 at 34. The 34 inch first of 500's have a head weight of 374 grams so cutting it down will be fine. I couldn't tell you what the swing weight would be.

Absolutely love the grip these come with, the head feels nice too.

I can't imagine the grip being better than the Pistolero on the California line. I haven't tried or even seen the new Cameron Select line so I can't compare.

I have a 2012 sonoma and just got a 2012 golo.  I like the grip on the sonoma a bit better.

Just bought this putter yesterday and I love the heavy feel of it, it's just right...If I were to cut mine down to 33 would look at getting some 25 gr weights....Never had a putter that feels so soft and solid at the same time, best $ 500 ever spent...

Just got my new toy, a Newport 2 Notchback. I had every intention of getting the trusty old Newport 2, but I really found myself liking the notchback shape - real easy to line it up. My only complaint is that I wish they put the pistolero grip on the selects and not just the California's, but at least the Select grip does feel a bit thicker than the grips on some of the past Camerons.

like my newport 2 but have to say the headcover is terrible.  For a retail of $375 there shouldn't be velcro.  Its pathetic.

The feel of the select is so much softer than the california series .. I have a golo and its stealthy soft.. I have a fastback california and its got a ping to it .. Its night and day difference.. Can't figure out why there seems to be such a difference

I just got my Cameron Select today. Good thing I have a job because I also have a Machine being built. Anyway, I got the 34 inch heavy version. One degree flat and one degree strong in loft with Pistolero grip. It has a swing weight of D-9! These are soft off the face but should be great on fast greens. I really liked it except for how the silver rings glare on the putter when the sun hits them right.

This is literally the exact putter I want with the exact stats except maybe a 33inch!

Tested the Select line the other day. Liked them a lot, in particular the super soft feel combined with my Z-Star's.

IMO the softer feel with the black finish make this a vastly superior release to the previous Studio Select models. These will be a winner, even with the fairly hefty price tag.
