There is a video explaining the technology....Looks good and I like the orange accents....A 44 degree PW, actually I like that too because I have problems keeping the ball down..Don't like the KBS Tour shaft but all the other shafts are available..

I need to check out that video!

Got to hit these irons today at a demo day event at our club.  These clubs are nice!!  They feel soft as butter and the flight was impressive.  I have to admit I kind of scoffed at pictures when I saw them on here.  The two weight slots and the roundish overall sole just looked odd to me.  However now that I have hit these these could easily go in the bag tomorrow and I have a set of GC16 Tour T stamps that I love.

On another note first experience with the Lamkin rel 3Gen grips.  These really surprised me.  I had picked up some clubs that had these installed at one of the local golf stores and didn't think much of them other then these have some pretty cool colors.  After hitting them today, these will get some trial time in the near future.

Lastly the ZL Encore is a rocket launcher.  AMP driver not so much.  Not the first time I hit the ZL but today just reinforced my thoughts about this club.  It is quite a driver.  Might have to try one of these too!

I f you look at the "AMP" logo quickly, the way the lettering is done makes it look very much like "PIMP". Pretty sure that's not an accident. Posted Image

Hah... I thought the same thing.

I did a 3 hour testing at a demo day. hit all kinds of clubs. 8 - 10 vendors there...against a 20 mph wind.  great day for testing.

1.  im a 2 handicap, 40 years old, and i carry a driver about 290 down a bit....i usually play only x stiff in driver and stout stiff in irons.  however, i am finding i am being able to hit stout tipped stiff drivers now.... so im getting old...

in any case.

My best performing driver of the day had to be no doubt the VR pro limited with the ahina stock stiff.  It matched my hybrid shaft and i love that club.  anyway straight as nails.  would have bought but pro shop had that club for 379......The new nikes are 299 and can get the same shaft....oddly when i tested the new one. with same shaft(different shaft) same spec. i sprayed it. my guess is it was playing weaker......

2nd best driver by far, was the cobra AMP. x-speed 8.5 stiff.. Looked and felt 20 yards longer than most drivers out there.  The ball hung in air forever....and still landed deep against a good wind.  the x-speed shaft is so close but not close enough.  I walked out of there thinking the driver to get was the amp with the x-stiff x speed. stock......

The best iron by far was.....................Cobra AMP Forged......not even close....stock kbs tour feels like it was made for that head. amazing....i currently play the mp53 with 6.0 project x.   great club.  i just felt like point and shoot with the amp forged.  and i like the look.  If you see these up close, you will too.  they are sharp. pics do no justice.

on a side note.....i hit the long tom straight and far. oddly. the rep told me he hasnt seen anyone anyone be that consistent. like i practice non stop with 48 inch driver.....it was indeed very very odd...especially in a stiff....weird.

other notes from the day.....

1. ive owned the r11s, ping g20, rbz tp, non tp, s3, superfast tp 2.0, all this year....

in order.

g20, great club. like the stock stiff tour and x-stiff tour, but felt like i really wanted an upgrade option for shaft. great great club.

rbz non tour, with tp shaft.   very consistent just could not get to roll out any, needed a lower loft option by a hair.

then the rest.

r11s i tried ahina 80x, too stout, then phenom stiff 60, too whippy.  then at this demo day  65 x tp shaft.  great results.  head still harsh. hate the feel.

anyway because im broke and found the fg tours(last years star at demo day) in a x-stiff kbs tour, mint condition yesterday for 300. i snatched them up instead of the 899 amp forged route....

Sweet looking irons. Don't think they could kick out my S2 forged just yet though

Mostly because I can't afford them... :-P

Anyone know the reason Cobra decided to offer the R+ and S+ vs a "normal" S and R?

Apparently the extra 5g of weight performs better with the Cobra Forged head

Tried these again this week. Like the looks and the feel but not very workable and just a bit too much bulk. These are like a JPX800 rather than a true forged head, especially with the very strong lofts. Good irons but I'll wait for the imminent Mp54 or whatever this year's Mizunos are named.
