Here's mine.  Love it!  Best part for me is that their headquarters are just minutes from home!

I used these bags thru HS & College days as well. Yes it was THE bag. It's very coincidental to see this thread, I kept the last one I used in the attic & just dug it out cleaned it up last week. Navy Blue w/white trim. It has the club I worked at the time embroidered on the side 'Oak Cliff CC'. It cleaned up real well. The corduroy material is tough and shows little wear & the trim is still bright after the '409' did it's magic.  The bonus find. a Titleist *384 tour 100*   & a persimmon Hogan 4 wood with the speed slot in the toe. I seriously think I will use this bag next time out.

I was a member at Oak Cliff when I was a kid.  1980-82.  Made my first eagle there.

I had a Miami Hurricanes Jones bag and several regular Jones bags growing up.  Busted the bottom of several of them.  Duck tape fixed them right up.  My freshman year in college we used the stand version.  I want to buy one, but not sure whether to get the Players or the regular one.

How do these bags balance if carried "clubs forward" ?

Vacation golf:
Wood Bros Texan
Ben Hogan Apex 3W, 4W
Golden Ram Tour Grind 1-SW
Titleist Bullseye (Standard Flange)
Yes I know that is 15 clubs lol

I tried mine "forward" for a couple holes just out of curiosity. It balanced as well as a typical smaller "Sunday" bag when carried that way but not nearly as nicely as "backward". I also tried it "forward" and "backward" on my left shoulder, it worked about like on the right shoulder. Which makes sense as it is basically a symmetrical design with the pockets all on the centerline instead of sides.

I have the Travis Mathew version. I used it for the first time last Friday walking 18 and it was great. Really well balanced when carried forward or backwards.

Only complaint that I have is my umbrella won't fit into the holder/sleeve.  It's a standard Ping umbrella.  Anybody else have this problem?

It's quite special that Jones has received such a warm and supportive welcome. We thoroughly enjoy reading each of these comments and we continue to take notes of the many pros and cons that have been mentioned, these contributions will help to improve our products in the future. After all, Jones is dedicated to making the best possible bag for players, and the only way to achieve that feat is to receive input from golfers alike. The longevity of this thread proves that the Jones Community is a tight knit group that has a passion for the game, and this passion is shared by the entire Jones Staff. We hope that everyone continues to post reviews, comments, and pictures of their Jones. Feel free to contact us with questions as well.

Enjoy your walk.

Would you mind sharing a link to the make and model of the umbrella you are having difficulties with? We tested a wide range of models that had no troubles at all, but we understand that it might not be a once size fits all due to the wide variety of structures that the market has to offer. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused, but we will try to amend the problem as our products develop. Appreciate the input!

Enjoy your walk.

Yeah, I tried the umbrella from my Staff Bag and it wouldn't fit the Jones either.  Its was just too fat for the sheath on the Jones Bag.  Not a huge issue for me though since I usually only use my Jones as a Range Bag anyway, and seldom go to the range when it looks like there is a chance of rain.

I never thought of this as as anything else but a dry conditions bag.  I'm out west where rain is not a threat most of the time and it will be stashed away when that time of year arrives.

Looks good.

How much structure is there in the bag? If you stand it on the bottom, do the sides of the bag stay up the way I remember my old Jones bag doing? Or is it more like a MacKenzie ballistic, but with the hard plastic bottom?

Don't know about how everyone else feels, but I much prefer the looks of the ORIGINAL Jones Bag to the rather plain black Player's Bag.  I can't see any advantage to the Player's Bag unless it is just lighter in weight.  The orginal Jones Bag is plenty light enough, and in fact, I wouldn't want a bag any lighter than that.

The Players Series will be an annual limited edition run featuring a unique theme or design each year that, in time, will form a lineage of creativity and style that carriers can be proud of.  This year's model is titled "Matt Black No. 001" because of its black on black design and signifies the premier of the series.

Features

–   Limited run of 1,000 bags.
–   Belly and main pocket featuring the iconic Jones Double Zip
–   Jones signature features: Twisted handle and Bottom Mold
–   An internal spine for added structure
–      Single divider that forms two compartments for clubs
–   Classic single strap design
–   Composed of Ballistic Nylon fabric
–      Customization available per request (call in)

There is an internal spine that adds quite a bit of structure. In the top picture, we don't have anything supporting the body of the bag. That is how it stands naturally (aside from the shoulder strap), so it won't slouch to the ground like other traditional carry bags.

It's the Ping 62" umbrella which is the smaller of the 2 umbrellas that Ping currently has out.  It really didn't even come close to fitting.  Certainly something that you might want to fix going forward.  Otherwise it's a great bag.

It looks like the Player's Bag is a lighter, smaller version of the Original? Player's has less pocket/storage area and only one divider versus two found on the Original? Correct?

Has anyone actually walked 18 with one of these? How do they compare to the lighter/ top rated carry bags (4 series, SM Swift) as far as strain on shoulders and lower back?
