Astonishing! 9 minutes and no responses. I must be the only GolfWRX insomniac. I guess I'll start. I am an i15 owner and don't really know what to think of these. The cavity bothers me. But, I bet they perform! What is the little insert between the i20 and PING?

You beat me to the scoop. Finally pics of the actual irons, looks very different to what I was expecting, quite a lot going on in the cavity, however i'm sure when you put them down, they have that I series look. Ferrules as well, not sure if I like that or not. Time will tell.

They look better than I expected. Looks like there is a lot of tech involved. I agree, should be a good performer.

Love the finish and what they are doing with the cavity. From just this picture they seem to be on the bigger side, at least bigger than the i15. I'm thinking an S56 6-PW and i20 4 and 5 iron are in my future....

I like the look of those better than I thought I would actually. I wonder if Lee got a call from PING after posting the pics on twitter? Haha

No, you mean PING called Lee and told him to post!

My verdict?
Nice!

Certainly very possible, but PING has been keeping a pretty tight lock on the i20 series releases. Someone posted pics from a pamphlet for reps that showed the i20 driver and I believe PING was not all that happy about the pics being posted.

A massive improvement in looks over the i15, but was the little patch on the toe really necessary? Leave that off and its a nice looking club. Interesting to see that we now have a break from yet another rehash of the standard CTP with move toward a more S56ish insert. Have to replace my Srixon AD 403s in the New Year, and this will certainly be on the test list - my perception is that PING may have a real winner with these. Timing-wise it looks like they'll go head-to-head with the preposterous TM (Dunlop!) Rocketballz irons. No contest in the looks department!

So LW is' testing' them.......will they be good enough to replace his beloved i10s I wonder?

Yes, looks like they are answering my prayers, maybe a tad more GI than the i15s. Will be interesting to see comparison with the i15 at address!!

I don't know if I liked them. I need to see more pictures. Especially at address. Its an 8 iron so they will look a bit bigger. These look more G series then I series from this picture. Great work finding the picture. Wait till everyone gets up, there are going to be a ton of replys.

If the former world no1 and cemented top 3 player of the last 3 years gets a "row" from Ping I'll eat my nuts dry roasted. This is how marketing goes in our current up to the eye balls in tech world. Get our top guy to post the pics and interest goes way up. I'd rather the scoop from Lee reg Ping, Luke reg Mizzy than some TM boffin standing there reading crap from an autoque trying to justify an improvement on what 5 min ago was the so called best club on the market blady blah....
I like the look of these and the cavity shows Ping believe they have a great idea in the S56 to carry it over.
If Westwood changes then they have to be good. He is regarded as the least "Ho" of all the tour guys.

Those look very nice. I hope they are more GI that the i15s. Be nice to get that forgiveness without having to go to the G20.

at least the insert looks like its rubberised and should hold up to bag chatter, the shiny insert jobs on the previous i and g lines were not their best

Not so sure about these being close to the G series - the cavity actually looks more shallow than the i15 and certainly the g20. Going on just one pic, I reckon the turf interaction should be pretty good on these - looks like a nice soft bevel on the trailing edge on the sole. In terms of size, all you have to go on to get any sense of scale is the hosel - taking that into account I think it looks relatively compact.

They look interesting but i wish the black area of the cavity was a bit cleaner.  (Perhaps even missing, Im sure its there for performance/feel reasons though...)

I would love to see some comparison picture of these alongside the I15, and S56.  I like the tech look, they do look a bit like the S-56 and Anser, and G-20 all got together and had a baby.  It looks as if the cavity elastomer is the S-56, they stabilizer bars are the Anser and the cavity badge G-20.  I guess if you combine all those techs together there is no way to go wrong.  I hope it is smaller than the I-15 though.  It does look very clean and it look like the cavity should be more durable than the I-15 badging.  The finish look great as well.

They look great. Way better than the i15's. I know its not what everyone wanted, but they fact they look a little bigger and more like the i5's (one of the top 5 Ping irons of all time) is most definitely a good thing IMO.
