So its that glorious time of year when your family asks you what you want for Christmas and you reply with " a golf bag!" When your family then asks "Which one?" you reply with "Thats a good question".

So I have had my eye on Ogio golf bags for a while now but the problem I have is that im in Australia (Perth) and cannot find anyone that stocks it but they can order it for me.
So I wanted to try and get a few opinions and try and make an "educated" decision.

I mainly use a push cart  when I play so I was looking at the Chamber (seems to eliminate that annoying club chatter but may or may not create some grip wear) model and Sultan II model but I was also thinking for those afternoons on the driving range it would be nice not to have to lug the push cart as well. So I was looking at the Recoil and the Grom XX bags.
Will I be able to put these bags in a push cart or should I stick to the Chamber or the Sultan II?

Any info that I can use to narrow it from 4 bags to 1 bag would be great. Thanks

P.S they all have the 14 way diamond club dividers

I would go with the lightest to carry.  However, I have never been a fan of a bag with 14 individual slots for clubs.  It makes for more nicks and wear on the heads.

Ogio make awesome bags, I have a 2011 Edge, which was the top carry model. They are heavy, about 9 pounds, but I prefer full featured bags, however I've had some issues with the strap, and had a hard time having it replaced with the same one. I think there are grand total of three of these bags in the country, my flatmate bought one, and my boss bought one, but there seems to be a design flaw. So check the straps out carefully.

Thanks Mudguard but thats kinda my problem. I cant really check them out before I buy it as they do not stock it in Perth but they can order it if I buy it so checking out the straps before isnt really an option.

Have you called Ogio?   I had a similar problem with an older Ogio bag and they asked for a pic...and then replaced the straps.

I've played an Ogio Grom for about 6 years now and it has held up great.  Very innovative storage spaces and good set up for walking.  I'd recommend getting an Ogio bag with the torque strap if possible.  Sounds like you mostly walk but this strap is great for carts as it keeps the bag from twisting and sliding down when strapped in.

Also, I'd go with a stand bag for sure.  I hate having to lay my bag down or worry about it falling over.  Although, depending on the pull/push cart you use the lever for the legs can get in the way.  I often have to turn my bag sideways to fit when I use a push/pull cart.

Good luck!

i just picked up the new grom.  ive been meaning to pull the clic gear into the laundry room to give it a good cleaning.  if i manage that this weekend ill post some pics of how the grom sits on the clic gear.  from what ive seen, the only difference in the grom and recoil is the pockets are deeper on the recoil to hold more stuff.  not sure on the cart bags though.  i bought the grom for travel to take up less space and to take with to work for those after work rounds where i dont know if im riding or walking.  other wise i use a mizuno cart bag with the clic gear but it became a problem having to lug around the clic gear in my work vehicle as well as the bag and shoes ect so i wanted a bag to take with without having to worry about other stuff if i decided to stop off after work

so far i have no issues with the grom.  i owned an 09 grom and it was great for walking except when on a cart the woode top wasnt the greatest layout when used with the torx strap. the torx strap is an awsome part of the bag though. the diamond top fixes that issue on the ridding cart though.  i dont think i had the clic gear at the same time as the 09 grom but i do recall a nike sasqautch II stand mechanism not fitting to well on the clic gear

Cannot vouch personally for the Vapor bag, but my brother and I both tote OGIO bags and love them. They work great for push carts, golf carts, and are super comfortable if you wanna throw them on your shoulder and walk 18. Doubt I'll ever buy another brand of bag.

I'm just sold on the Woode system, I've always thought it was the best way to separate everything, especially with 2 FW's and a hybrid in the bag. I will have to get to Golf Galaxy to see if they're in stock there.

I thought 14 way was the way to go to minimize bag chatter. I've never had a bag with one but I am in the market for a new bag. So your experience is no bueno with 14 way dividers?

14 way dividers separate all the clubs which allows them to swing and bang into each other.  I experienced that with a Nike 14 way bag.  Having fewer slots with multiple clubs in them allows the clubs to naturally nest together a little which actually makes it quieter and less prone to bag chatter marks.

I use a Ogio bag with the Woode system and really like that.  Keeps everything really well organized without excessive bag chatter.  I'm sorry to see they don't make a bag with the Woode system and zipperless ball pocket anymore.

I have the ogio sprint and so far I like it pretty well. Fits my Clic gear 2.0 well and is only 4.5 lbs, so it's easy to cary as well.
Only beef is when I do carry it the legs tend to catch my towel and pin it between the leg and the bag when the legs contract.

I bought an Ogio Stealth and loved it until the top strap ring pulled right off the bag a couple weeks ago. It was basically brand new. I left a message at the customer service desk and never got a call back. I currently have it rigged up with the strap attached to the handle. It sucks. My clubs are always trying to spill out cause it's imbalanced. I can't believe I have to buy a new bag already.

I have an '09 Grom that I have never have a problem with.  A couple months ago, I purchased the Recoil, but I don't really walk that much so I more recently picked up a Grom XX and love it (although my girlfriend doesn't like all these golf bags taking over our place, lol).  My suggestion would be to go with the Grom XX, mainly because it seems more versatile than the other choices.

I own a 2011 Grom and love it.

It's a bit heavy if you plan on walking, but it'll help you get stronger. For the golfer who looks to just throw it on the cart and ride, it is fantastic.

Great construction, great design. Love it.

I love Ogio bags.  They are some of the most user friendly golf bags on the market.  I just bought an Assasin this year with the diamond 14-way top and am loving it.  I had the Sultan a couple of years ago, and found that the zipperless ball pocket had an annoying habit of letting balls drop out, so I went back to a traditional zippered version.  I use a push cart for almost all my golf, and have found that a cart bag works great as far as fit on the cart and having enough pockets for all my gear.  The one drawback of the carry bags is trying to find a way to contain the legs when using a cart.  The handle on the cart bags is usually positioned well enough to allow for easy carrying to and from the car for range sessions, and the design of the bag and top is ideal for access to your clubs on a cart.

Move the towel before closing, a very minor inconvenience.

I like the Grom XX, but it would depend on if you are walking(GromXX), riding(Chamber), or push cart(Chamber)

Just took delivery of a 2012 OGIO Sprint. Awesome looking bag, very comfy to carry. Havent used it in a round yet but will be soon. The Woode system is new to me as Ive come from a 14 way divider but so far it looks the goods. Woods on one side and irons on the other-putter up the top. Love it. Plenty of room but not too much to make it too heavy. I actually fit exactly what I was carrying in a fullsize cart bag. Actually have one slot left over on the left row which is where the alignment sticks are atm. The towel issue I can see could become a problem but I tried feeding the end through the lifting handle and it kept it out of the way. Ive been carrying a chamois type sports towel that keeps my hands nice and dry and thats been hanging over the clubs so maybe the other towel might get the boot.

i have the Exodus bag with the White/ Navy / Gold color scheme (very similar to Sultan 2).   I usually only drive in a cart and in the rare occasion walking, its with the push carts.   So, for me, stand bags weren't really needed.   The only downside to the Exodus bag (Sultan) are the top pockets.   When strapped in, they become inaccessible.   Its actually pretty to good to lock away your keys/ phone/ other items not needed on the course but for some, its hindering.

The ball slots are great... and even better is the Zipperless pouch.    Makes for easy access.  Three years later and mine is still in great  condition.

Works out fine, but the wedges (lower Woode spot) can come close the edge of the push cart's bag handle (holding the bag in place)...but it's never been a problem.

Actually the thing that irritates me about Ogio and my Clic Gear is the "valuables" pocket near the top of the bag.   The strap on the Clic Gear goes right over that section so it makes less accessible.

I had 2 Groms (one sent back under warranty) an edge and a Chaos cart bag.  I thought that they were well designed with respect to pockets etc.   They were a little heavy though and tended to wear quickly.  The legs were horrible IMO and are the main reason I now use a Sun Mountain Four 5 now.  There are definitely aspects of my old Grom that I miss though.  The Woode top is best in class though.

Ogio is a top notch outfit and they stand behind their products.  You will not be dissappointed with an Ogio bag.  If anything goes wrong with it they will fix it for you free of charge but you have to ship it to their factory.  I have had six Ogio bags so far and have not been dissapointed with any of them.  The colors and options they offer are light years ahead of any other bag manufacturor.  Thats why I keep buying Ogio bags because every year they keep putting out a better product and I just can't resist.  Go ahead and order one because you won't be dissapointed.

I'm glad to hear this, I sent my Grom back literally today, because of issues with the shoulder strap 'ring' stretching, causing the straps to just pop off the bag. Incredibly annoying, because aside from that and the weight of the thing, I really like it. Ordered a Four 5 as a replacement, but I'm nervous about the features of the Grom that I know I'll miss - the ZBP and the great styling chief among them.

Love my GromXX bag. I've had it now for a few months and maybe 20 rounds and am still experimenting with different club placements. I think that have the woods/drivers in the middle seems to work the best then the irons on the outside. Just make sure that your cover's are long enough so that your shafts don't get dings, putter at the top. Very little club chatter this way.
