pricy but good.
One I tried years ago and am unlikely to ever see again, Old Oscar Pepper's.

As a go-to, I stick to Makers. Nice, fairly smooth and I like it. Bullett is pretty good. I drank too much Wild Turkey in college and now I shy away from it. I got a bottle of Blanton's for Christmas but haven't opened it yet. Trying to wait until my other opened stuff is gone. Woodford is greatness...and I really like Basil Hayden's. Next I would like to try Four Roses, Buffalo Trace and the aforementioned Pappy.

Also picked up a bottle of Town Branch over the weekend... it's a 6 year bourbon that cost me $21. Well worth the money.

That is my go to "value" bourbon, right there. I haven't found anything at that price point that's as good. My normal bottle is Maker's, though. It's got the perfect balance of cost and flavor for me. I'm also a Maker's ambassador. My barrel is actually getting bottled this fall. I'm going to try to head out to Ky to do it in person.
My favorites of all time, though, are:
AH Hirsch 20yr
Pappy Van Winkle 23yr
Hudson Whisky Four Grain Bourbon

Another vote for Evan Williams Single Barrel. It's is getting harder to find ever since they changed the bottle, but it remains my number two overall bourbon. A close thrid place goes to Eagle Rare 10 yr. I spent a good two or three years trying every bottle I could find, including the Pappy Van Winkle 15 and 20. The 15 was just okay and the 20 is my number one all time, but for the price I can't suggest it over EW and Eagle Rare. The 23 yr. would be fun to have as a true "private stock" but I can't seem to keep bottles for long...
My rankings:
Pappy Van Winkle 20 yr
Evan Williams Single Barrel
Eagle Rare 10 yr.
Buffalo Trace
Elijah Craig 12 yr.
Jefferson
Bulleit
Booker's
Knob Creek
Woodford Reserve

Any of you tried the Parkers Heritage Collection Cognac Cask? It is spectacular. The cognac finish really compliments the pour very nicely. I was intruiged by this and was blown away with the results. Great Bottle.
As for drinkers, the usuall suspects have been mentioned.
Pappy anything
Four Roses LE is great.
EH Taylor
GTS
WLW etc
The Jeffersons Pres Select 17 and 18 are essentially re-badged PVW (Stitzel Weller) products and phenomenal.
and then we get to the scotch.
This collection is even more expensive than my golf addiction. Tread lightly boys this one is a slippery slope.

Give Old Forrester Signature a try... or Four Roses... I like those three, and those 2 are similarly priced and as good, if not better.

Well I got a bottle of old forester signature tonight. Can really taste the 100 proof and the flavor sits at a different place than what im used to in buffalo trace and beam black. Had two full rocks glasses today and will wait for judgement til after another go around.

I would suggest trying if you can find. I have looked in Michigan and can't locate. It is made in Iowa.

Picked up two bottles today, one for me, one for a friend.
That also frees up the bottle of double oaked prichards I had bought as a back-up if I couldn't find the Pappy for my buddies wife.
She asked me to find a good bottle for him to celebrate their upcoming child. Requesting Pappy 15... so I've been buying small batch bourbons to "test them out" for her... which ended up me buying 3 bottles for myself, and one bottle for her.
What can i say? i'm a good friend.

I don't have the budget for expensive bourbons anymore... spent it all on the Pappy.

Another is Evan Williams white label bottled in bond. Very very good bourbon and a steal at $15. Honestly I was buying Buffalo, makers and woodford and since trying these two I haven't bought any of them in months and would put those two head to head at the same price.
