Blind taste test tonight...Kirkland Signature (Costco) Premium Small Batch (aged 7 years, 103 proof) vs. Knob Creek (small batch, aged 9 years, 100 proof...I think this is "regular" Knob Creek).  Just a couple of swallows each, neat, in identical glasses, with eyes closed...the Costco was much smoother, less of a "burn," just a more pleasing flavor.  Not sure what everyone thinks of Knob Creek, or how many have tried the Costco brand...but it's hard to imagine many Bourbons being a lot better, especially bang for the buck wise...less than 20 bucks for a 1 liter bottle, and the Knob Creek is $32 for 750ml...I always want to try something new (same problem I have with golf clubs)... but honestly, I can't see why I wouldn't just stick with the Costco brand.  Anyone else have this experience with this bourbon?

I just finished drinking through a bottle of the costco bourbon recently. I will say it grew on me. I wasn't sure what I thought about it the first few times I had it but as I got deeper into the bottle I found myself enjoying it. I'm working on some Crown Royal Reserve right now that I am finding tasty, but I'm making mental notes in this thread of things to try next.

Welcome to the party, pal.

drinking it again tonight. I've been to my liquor store a bunch of times (obviously) and they've only had it that once. Hope they keep stocking it because it's actually priced pretty well.

Jack's single barrel still my favorite

Picked up a bottle of old weller antique 107 proof over the weekend and really enjoyed it. For the high proof it went down very easy. This was really my first time with a wheated bourbon outside of makers and may try some others.

I haven't tried anything new recently... had a stomach bug and my daughter's birth (first one, did not need the forum's help to name her).

I will probably pick something up to celebrate the birth and the derby... we will see what I find when I'm in the liquor store.

Yes, I've had it... I don't remember it well. If I remember correctly, I liked it fine but it didn't blow my skirt up.

I really need to start keeping track of my bourbon trying...

keep the empties!

I got Elijah Craig, Knob Creek, 1792 Ridgemont, Makers 46, Buffalo Trace, Jack's single, Old Forester, Woodford empty bottles in my cupboard....and that might be it. If i buy a bottle a second time i don't keep it.

So basically i've bought 8 different bourbons i guess.

When I start keeping empties, it makes me look like a drunk.

Picked up a bottle of Johnny Drum, which I had been meaning to try.

Definitely a good value bourbon. $23 dollars and great for just sipping on.

BAKERS. and anything with a  fake flavor is not a bourbon. its a mixer! so the stag is out of the conversation! I don't normally drink bourbon, but when I do its Bakers. I love a Balvenie 21 any day of the year!

I was lucky enough to score a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle last year at Costco, of all places.  They had the 15 and 23yr, and I grabbed the 23yr.  I should have grabbed both, and when I went back to do so a week later, they were gone, not surprisingly.

I also have a bottle of Bookers right now, which will light you up lol.  I think the best for the money is Blanton's.  Soooo smooth and tasty.
