I was told  that the tour AD DJ R1 had gone up in price, however it appears the new BB shaft is the same $420.00

Will there be any cost difference because some coming from Japan, or do all of their shafts come from there?

Thank u

I currently play the 9003S in a Yonex EZone 380, however, eyeing the BB 7 for maybe a Callawy Razr Fit or R11S.

Amazing shaft.  Very stiff tip, but it doesn't feel as if you are swinging rebar.  Crazy low spin and lower launch than the DI by a bunch for me.  I have the 7x in my RAZR Hawk Tour.  I may be putting the 8x in my new Super Fairway XTD once it arrives.

Do you think it would be too low launching and spinning for a fwy wood? Trying to decide between the BB or the DI

Just remember to get fit for the shaft.  If your numbers are already optimal then dropping trajectory by 1-2* and dropping 400rpm in spin will have a NEGATIVE effect on your shot.  I fell into this trap of wanting super low launch super duper low spin and realized I was leaving yds on the table especially in soft conditions.  Mid Kickpoint shaft with low spin characteristics got me 8 more yards last month vs my low launch/low spin shaft.  Plus added 1* to my driver.   Best thing I ever did.

$400 for a shaft is ridiculous.  Are there people out there that will actually pay that?

Pretty awesome  looking shaft! I play the GD Pershing 65X and have for around 4 years. At $400+ this thing better be good, but I trust that it is. If I hit it and got unreal numbers out of it, I would sure pay it. I am a huge Hoe!

Seriously... How will it compare to the Pershing?

I want this shaft so bad but don't want to buy it without hitting it first. I do like the feeling of the DI but if this is similar with lower spin, it'll be a great shaft.

The 6X model seems WAY to loose in the tip. $420 seems ridiculous to me, the DI was great but this, not so much.

Yeah Graphite Design went up 50 bucks this year. 400 is a little extreme for a shaft... These are getting some play on tour, not much but some! There are a few of the new Mitubishis in play this week 5 or 6.

Hit it and it is definitely firm compared to the DI. I am higher spin and it took off about 350 RPMs but only about .5* of launch.

Take it for what it's worth...

Price/performance ration levels off the higher you go, no question but like anything, if people think they can improve even the slightest amount, they'll pay the premium.  Matrix's $1000 TPHD, Japan's Crazy's, etc.

Really trying to decide if I should put one of these in my 910D3 or put a DI in it ????
Looking for some more feedback...... Lower spin sounds good especially if the launch hasn't lowered to much.....

I think shafts are becoming like a fashion statement. Just like the Monster by Dr.Dre Earphones. They surely do perform well and is at high standard but at the same time there are similar performing one at like $60. If Tiger started using a YS6 Stiff tipped 2", i think everyone will start using one. More than happy to try one of these if i think get my hands on one for free.

I would love to give this shaft a shot in my 910D3 but living in North Dakota provides limitations to being able to demo something like this.  I will have to road trip somewhere to try it out.  I have heard good things about it but I know that just because others like it doesn't mean that it will work for my swing.  I currently have the RIP 60g S in my driver... can anyone compare the two for me?

Who is gaming this shaft on tour?  I saw pics of Ryo Ishikawa swinging one...  Looks like the AD DI is still the preferred Graphite Design shaft on tour...

I was having the same debate (DI or BB) in the driver. Decided on the BB because I am hoping the feel will be similiar but the shaft will lower my spin. I can afford to lose a little launch to keep the ball out of the wind as well. I haven't hit the BB yet, but I love the feel of the DI. Hope I didn't make a huge mistake.

Looks great!

I'm using it right now. It launches lower with firm feel. I am using BB 7x pretty solid thou.

What shaft were you playing before? Can you compare this shaft to any others you have played?
Thanks

This does seem to be a bit outrageous in the price department.
