Not sure if anyone can help me out, but I just recently purchased a set of Ping S56 3-PW, with Tour S 52 and 58. All have matching serial numbers and I just wanted to know the original info on the clubs.

Serial Number is 83920X for the entire set.

I know that I can call them in the morning, just thought I would give this a shot.

Thanks in advance.

Spoke with PING today and the clubs are real. They were assembled in Japan as the shaft label says.

Below is the email from PING

"Your set of irons is one that was built in Japan. Below are the specs that the set was built at. If there is anything else I can do for you please let me know.

Thanks everyone for the help.

I have contacted them through their "contact us" form and received a response within an hour.  I just gave them my serial number and asked for the original specs.  This was during business hours.

Yeah I know about the email and calling them, just thought I read somewhere that people with accounts were able to find specs online. I thought it was worth a shot. Thanks for the replies.

One of the guys at the shop I buy from could look them up.  I know they have a Ping account and these clubs are about 7 -8 years old.  Go to a place that has an account.

Ping S56s are in the current rotation of Ping models.

My club has a ping account but they are closed on Mondays.

That serial number brings back nothing.  You sure it is correct?

Ping says they have no record of 83920X.  I know the numbers are hard to read sometimes...maybe you read it wrong?

Checked again, that is the correct number.

Thinking it may have been a custom order since it is a set of 10 clubs.

I will have to give them a call in the morning.

Thanks for the help guys

Even if its a custom order the number still shows up.  It shows up for tour equipment as well.  I would definitely call and find out all the information you can.  It seems awfully weird as to why it wouldn't show up.  I tired switching a couple numbers in your serials but still couldn't get the right information to show up.  A couple of them we very close but never your exact set, I would make sure that number is correct because sometimes PING serials do look a little weird.

Here is a picture of the Serial Number. I think I am reading it correctly, but maybe not.

Thanks again

That does not look like a Ping serial number font. Looks very different from mine. looks larger. Anyone else think it looks different? I hope I'm wrong.

I thought the 0 looked a little big but the font looks OK to my eye.  The 8 also looks weird but I'm not sure, PING doesn't bring anything back with that serial number which is odd.  Even when I snagged Bubba's serials from high res pics here to check his specs, they showed up.

Does not look like my s56 serial font.  Mine is smaller, and the character kind of look dotted.

The picture may not be the best. The serial is made up of individual dots on this set. I believe that is was you are saying about yours.

Just compared my serials to your pix. Your numbers are larger and the font is cut deeper. My serial fonts have definite dots while your dots look embedded much deeper. They just don't look right. Sorry.

Does not look at all like thr ser. # on my s56 either. Also the number on mine is centered between the black and the indentation if you can picture what I mean. Good luck.

I've noticed the serial number font is different for a complete set vs. purchasing a single club.  No doubt they have more than one way to add the serial numbers depending on who assembled the clubs.

As far as these clubs are concern, that assembled in Japan business may hold the key.

Good luck

As others said, call Ping directly. All my sets have a serial number thats "dotted" - not a continuous font. The serial number ending in X does coincide with Ping standards as an X at the end means it was ordered as a mixed set (additional wedges or two different style irons). Contrary to another post these are current production clubs, not six years old. The assembled in Japan sticker tends to go with newer Ping clubs that have tungsten in the club. The S56's do have a tungsten insert in the toe. Ping only manufactures non-hazardous materials in the US. Other materials are made on foreign soil.

Spoke with a lady at Ping and she is contacting their Asian department. She is suppose to contact me by the the end of day. The North American database did not have the serial number on record. I will let you guys know once I hear something.  Does anyone know if the Ping S56 heads have any other markings on them.

Give Ping a call. Where did you buy your clubs? Does the 3 iron have the Assembled in Japan shaft?

I wish y'all could see these in person, they are perfect in every detail except the serial number but i think my pictures are making it look worse than it is. I'm not even entertaining that they are fakes, couldn't be this good.

I bought them on ebay, but it never even crossed my mind as fake, they are immaculate. I can't check the 3 iron right now it's at home, but I will tonight.. I will give Ping a call later today and find out, but I'm a bit busy to get tied up on the phone right now.

I bet you will be good. Ping was extremely quick and I was on the phone for no more than 5 minutes. The number is 1 (800) 474-6434 (apologize in advance if I shouldn't have put the number down). Keep me updated on how your clubs turn out, I'm interested and hope it works out.
