GolfWRX received word today from a Cobra Staffer whom wishes to stay anonymous that the Rickie Fowler deal is a "done deal". You will see Rickie Fowler playing Cobra gear and wearing Puma for the 2012 year.

Congratulations to Cobra and to Rickie!!!

we had the other thread going about this too, not surprising i think many people expected this. Good fit for Fowler and gives the brand an identity and for better or worse, a target market

My main concern about all this is....

How will TheDarkOne react to this news???

Or, did he know all along?

They do. They had a bunch of high MOI putters. Recently they had milled protos for Poulter. I would highly doubt Rickie would not use a SC.

This had been in the works for a while. Makes a lot of sense and hopefully the change in gear will have a positive effect on his game.

Cobra and Titleist used to be linked under Acushnet, but Puma bought Cobra so now they aren't linked.

His sophomore slump will continue until he gets used to the new equipment.

Good for Rickie, cant wait to see what clubs he plays, what irons will he use? I don't know of any new players irons they're making so this year's S3 pro's? Idk if he will want to play the trusty rusty's and what about fairways and hybrids? Are they coming out with anything other than the AMP line and Baffler T-rail as far as woods? I could see him with a ZL Encore and I do know Robo got fit for irons that "don't exist" yet and suposedly some new material in fairway woods, I guess it'll work out, just can't wait to see his WITB

Cobra sucks. But I guess if they were gonna pay me more than titleist I'd switch too.

dont mean to be a hater, but i do hate on rickie fowler, he is going to be the next sergio i am calling it. unless he can calm down with the partying and hooking up with lots of different chicks he wont be able to win on the PGA tour, that win on the asian tour does not count as a win

I hate to see him leave Titleist, but I think it will be good for Cobra if he plays well in 2012.
