Glauser-

In the "Little Red Book" the late golf teacher Harvey Penick wrote...

" Pretty Is as Pretty Does"

It isn't how far, how long, or in 2011 AUSTRALIAN OPEN CHAMPION Greg Chalmer's case,  how it looks....

25 years ago, much the same thing was said about Jack Nicklaus' Response ZT putter at the 1986 Masters.
Perhaps the kindest thing written about that putter was something like "Vacuum Cleaner Attachment"

and Vijay Singh won the 2000 Masters with a putter called a "KLUNKER"?

It's HOW MANY......really.

It has a much different set up than a standard V-foil. Heel shafted with a lot of offset. I think it has an HSM face insert as well.

He sure seems to roll it well with it and has been gaming it for some time.

If Chalmer's putter has the insert material Bobby Grace features on his website, then it's no surprise.

Presidents Cup Team?  No...sorry.

Agreed.  It is an Amazing Grace putter, and confirmed by the Equipment Section of Golf World.

Go to  www.bobbygraceputters.com   for more information.

It is an Amazing Grace but not like the ones on Grace's site.  The F-22 Amazing Grace has "wings" on the back end of the putter and Chalmers' does not.  The older version of the Amazing Grace (like Chalmers' model) looks very much like the MacGregor V-Foils (which is why it had me fooled).

Below are photos of Chalmers' putter and at the very bottom, pictures of an Amazing Grace putter that is on ebay.

He definitely puts it to use well.  But I stand by my statement that it's ugly.  That being said, if I could roll them half as well as he does I'd game it.

There isn't anyone who plays tournament golf for a living who hasn't tried anyTHING for success on the greens.

As someone reminded me, Paul Azinger used a THING putter to win a TOUR Championship.

..and my response to looks remains the same...

"Pretty is as Pretty Does" -  Harvey Penick

and it isn't how long, how straight, or how pretty....

it's HOW MANY....

Came across this and thought I'd add...it is the original Bobby Grace Amazing Grace. I had one and it was a great putter.  It was only a prototype and this particular version was never mass produced.  I'm pretty sure the red insert was just a hard rubber as this came out WAY before his HSM inserts. I got mine through a friend that knew Grace. Very soon afterwards MacGregor bought the line and turned it into the mass produced VFoil and VFoil 5.5k with a differenet insert and the silver color and the holes in the sides of some.  There were a few that MacGregor made early on with no insert and they were pretty good, but the mass produced VFoil certainly didn't have the feel or weighting of the original prototype.

It is the Original Amazing Grace, not a prototype. I know because I have the same thing (rt handed) and have been gaming it for about a decade. I waste a ton of money each year trying to buy something better and I always go back to the one I roll it the best with. It is the softest and quitest putter I have ever seen. Perfect for fast greens.
