Thank you for the numbers! That's pretty cool. I would have thought their SS numbers would have been higher for some reason. I guess Wie's driver would have been about 105 or so if her 3-wood was that high. Interesting.

It would be interesting to see their numbers on the range when they are not worried so much about getting a driver in play and maybe free wheeling a bit more, versus these numbers that were taken on the golf course during an actual round of competition.  Both holes that I got Trackman numbers had water that was in play off the tee.

Yeah did you hear Crafty after Yani's numbers popped up... she was making excuses right away for her... "Oh she just put a soft swing on that one..." or something like that.  Looked like a pretty normal swing to me - although I know yani can put it out there when she wants to.

I saw some of these numbers during the telecast and was surprised by how short the ladies hit the ball.  It really demonstrates the disparity in length between the men's and women's games (not trying to slam the ladies, just a fact).

Also not trying to slam...but I am curious what the Senior "Champions" tour SS #'s.  That tour seems a lot like "the land of Oz"...  from trying to hide the fact that they ride in carts, to broadcasters never talking about the length of the courses they play.

I get the sense they are riding carts,  playing 3 rounds on 6500 yard courses and avoiding competition from the best 50 year olds by virtually doing away with "Q School".

Fun to see what Bam Bam and Petersen would produce... Also no reflection of accuracy.  Anyone that has seen Yani play and hit practice balls comments the sound of her ball off the club is unlike any female golfer they have ever heard..

I would think Fred Couples would refuse to play if the courses were over 6500 yards and they allowed the best 50 year olds in. Especially if he couldn't ride A cart.

Aren't those launch numbers kind of low for those speeds?

I followed Fred Couples in the 3M Tournament in the Twin Cities and he walked the whole round and the course is 7100 yards.

That's what I thought.  Mid 90's SS should have around 13.5~14.5* of launch ideally.  Maybe they prefer a little lower launch for better control?

Petersen's swing speed was 95.  What impressed me the most was the scores the ladies were posting on a course around 6500.

I say those numbers are about right.  Most of my golf buddies don't swing 95mph.  :D  I've played in an LPGA pro am before and our LPGA pro outdrove 2 out of the 4 guys in our group.  She was about 240-250 max off the tee and was top 90 on the money list.
If MW swings 97 w/ 3 wood then she's around 100-102 with driver albeit I've seen 107 from her before.

Uh, I think he was being "tongue in cheek", politely telling me I was full of it..... Which upon further review I might have been.

That's exactly what I noticed too.  I bet they hit it further with their SS than most on here with higher SS.  Serious talent.
