went to my first and so far only game in 89 i think. Played Navy which ND played both times I have seen them now.
Easily the coldest I have ever been in my life. Windchill was something like -16 or so at game time. Irish won and my Dad and I had a lot of fun.

The typical cast of "haters" need not bother. Please. We've heard it ad nauseum.

Oh SEC guy, are you seriously saying Stanford doesn't have a good defense? I agree, the SEC would crush Notre Dame but c'mon Stanford's defense for all intensive purposes is an SEC defense.

ahem, you mean the only bowl eligible undefeated team?
ND has put a great season together for sure, but, I find it tough to see them get past Bama. I can imagine Bama dropping a beating on them like Florida did to my Bucks a few years back.
If Bama doesn't make it though, I can see ND doing it.

The SEC is extremely overrated this year.

With that said, I do not believe ND is the best team in the country either. They are a great team and I am a HUGE ND fan but they definitely have some holes. They do have a great defense though and they deserve a shot IF they beat USC.
Since we're talking about losses that SHOULD have happened...shouldn't ND have lost to Pitt. Seems like I remember a late bogus PI call that allowed their game-tying drive to continue in the last few minutes of the game.
I couldn't care less about either team. I don't have a favorite college team and just like to see a good game.

You're USC, and you're down by 9. You've gone for it on first, second, and third and goal, failing miserably. Why do you not kick the field goal to make it a six point game and give your defense a chance to get the stop, then go for the winning drive to close out the game? Am I missing something?

Yes weird decision, but that's Lane Kiffin.

Exactly what I thought. You go for it and don't get it, you automatically lose the game. At least with a FG you've still got a chance.
And can anyone more knowledgeable about the BCS thing tell me how it's "fair" for a team like Alabama, GA, Oregon, etc... to have to play a tough "unscheduled" conference championship game while a team like ND doesn't have to. It's just one more really tough game you have to get through to get the the National Championship game while ND sits at home.

Absolute clown work right there....
Kiffin is the most arrogant coach in sports. AD at USC should fire his sorry arse immediately...
