Thanks BB for the insight.....you stated that launch and spin are on low side.......that is my fear ...... But earlier you thought mid flight and spin.....clarify please.......also is there any comparison to say 910 series, r11 or any other popular driver, past or present?

Sorry, I'm just very excited about this product.....probably getting a 10.5* regular.....with glued it will be easier to experiment with shafts.......Lawrence
It's quite hard to quantify launch and spin as club setup plays a major role, for me this driver produced medium launch with mid to low spin. With a simple shaft change I'm confident I can achieve a bit higher launch with added spin (dead spot on for me). It may be easier to state that this head did not produce extreme results which might alter your setup requirements...BB

The Nike Limited offering this year looks superb.  I actually don't care for adjustable clubs so I'm loving the fact that they are all glued hosels...looking forward to putting the 3 wood against my current gamer....nice review

It's listed as 1* open and compared to my old VR Tour it does look closer to neutral.

And I guess I'm in the minority, the only one so far, but I really don't care for the new head cover so I'm using my old VR Tour head cover.

Although I love glued drivers I wish nike had an unobrusive str8 fit technology where you can easily try a few shafts.

I bet the vr ltd w/ fubuki k series would straight bomb!!!

I am getting the VR Tour driver with Fubuki K X-Stiff and its incredible!  Best feel and combo I have ever hit.  I heard about the VR Limited driver but its 2 degrees open which is too much for me so I am sticking with the VR Tour Driver.  It does look sweet though.
The Vr pro Lmtd is 1 degree open like the Vr Tour.  The fairway wood is 2 deg. open, but to me it still looks pretty neutral

Wonder if the stock a'hina offered was the after-market version or 'Made for Nike'.

Played this driver today. Great launch, love the feel. Easy to work. I wouldnt mind a little more fade bias, but thats me. I might shorten it just a bit. But its a bomber. Really love the feel. Mine is 8.5 with the stock shaft, stiff flex.

I'm around 105 with the driver. My gamer right now is a r11TP with extra stiff blur. I like it but the Nike feels better. I'll keep testing the Nike because of the feel and the ball flight.

I'm in the process of finding a suitable shaft replacement, once I completely optimize this driver I will update the post with launch monitor data and possibly video!

Ben, that was a fantastic review.  Enjoyable to read -  I hope GolfWRX uses you again.

I'm sticking a 70-S RIP-α in an LE head right now.  Hacking it down to 44.75 and piling some lead in the tip to recover swingweight.

Thanks, I really appreciate the kind words guys. I'm not a Winn grip fan but have good luck with WinnLite's (26grs) when swingweight is marginal, really helps...BB

I will hit one on the sim before buying one.. noticed my local GS has quite a few for DEMO.... not in love with 45.75 though...lots of swingweight to make up when I chop an inch...

Mine is reshafted and cut down.  It is a LOT of swingweight to recover, but the hosel is DEEP - 1.85" of depth so you could still stick a lead plug of 8 grams in there and have 1.5" of hosel to tunnel the shaft into (thats the depth of an r11 sleeve so its a safe amount to secure to).  Be sure if you use a lead plug you cut equal amounts of tip off to offset the shallowing of the hosel (to maintain kick point in your shaft).

I ended up making mine 45.00 so I used a plug and lighter grip (MCC).  Nike says the drivers weigh between D3-D5 off the rack.  I am hoping to have achieved d2-d3 with my mod.  That's fine for me.  Prebuild I was around those figures.  I haven't weighed it since I build it.  I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.  SW is so overrated - as long as I'm in the D ballpark I'm ok.  C7 sucks ;)

I changed to an GolfPride multi compound to shave off about 4 grams at the grip end also.  (I had to take a pic of the shaft by a plant so my camera would focus!)

I HATE that the industry uses 45.75" driver lengths these days.  It's sooo hard to wield that much shaft for anyone.  I remember when they had the long drive competition last year at Kapalua  - One of the guys went to a 47 inch driver and couldn't hit it so he went back to hit reg 45".  Might have been DJ.  When you got a lake on one side and you HAVE to hit the fairway, nobody can routinely hit the sweetspot on the smallest head in the industry (430cc) with a nearly 46" shaft.  I can't wait until they return to normal length.

I must agree with many points, I really should have mentioned the stock length in my review, not a fan. Very true regarding bore depth, during re-shaft process folks may want to pay close attention to tip stiffness fully installed, shaft may feel a bit more stout. I've decided on using a Attas T2 (70-72grs'ish) and will intentionally use a light plug to raise the bore depth a hair, should be a nice small tweak to again accomplish my goal of adding a bit of launch and spin...BB

If i'm able to place in an up-coming tournament, i'll definitely be using the script towards the LE driver and fairway.  :clapping:

Oh by the way, my driver spec's...

1.) 44.5' gripped (I ordered it short and it came in spot on)
2.) D1 with stock Nike grip
3.) Ozik HD6 stiff flex (250cpm's), I was surprised as it felt a bit more stout, tip is definitely stiff.
4.) head weight (202gr's), not bad!

Should give a decent baseline...BB

I've had mine awhile with a Fubuki. Most consistent driver I've had besides d3. Also hit some of my longest drivers ever.

Fubuki alpha. Yes flight is good and I'm a low ball hitter.

any idea what the custom shaft options are from the factory on this driver?  they aren't listed on the website yet.

i'm currently playing the vr pro with a tour-ad di-6 so i'm hoping it will be available with that shaft.

She's completely re-built, my tech's work turned out spotless and dead on per usual...

44.75' gripped
D3 with GPMC
Attas T2 7S

I included the "real world" before and after specs so folks can gauge possible shaft changes. the addition of a 1/4' of length, little heavier shaft and lighter grip really dialed in my optimal swing weight...BB
