It's very tough to dethrown the top dog (ProV1), but this ball sure is giving it a run for its money!
The ball is as long if not longer, spins very well, and handles the wind with ease. For of those who are concerned about color, it looks better than ANY premium Titleist ball.
If Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, and Arnold Palmer use it, you know it's good!!! Not to mention the #1 female golfer who has 9 majors!

The best way I can describe it is almost as much spin as the ProV1 and longer than the Prov1X for me. The spin is easier to control for me than the ProV1. I hit the Cally and Prov1X for a driver comparison. The X was a little longer on a few drives but the Cally was 3-5 yards longer on average.

It is the perfect blend of length and spin for me. It also feels great off the putter.

great ball.
all the features i was looking for. long off the tee, soft on the greens, however they do mark-up quite quickly.

Simply the best ball out there (and I've tried them all). All the benefits of the benchmark ProV1* but better in the wind. Feels hot off the driver, soft off the short irons, and buttery off the putter.

This ball is the poop...take a whiff.

A recent convert to this ball from the ProV1. I love the way it performs and it is also a couple of dollars cheaper than the ProV.

It has all of the characteristics I am looking for and it is a touch longer as well. Great ball

If you liked and played the original HX Tour as I did, you will love the new HX Tour. They made some significant improvements that go beyond making it more duarble. It is so soft off the irons and putter face. I liked it before. I love it now! Best ball on the market now, period!

Love this ball. The main thing for me is it doesn't get affected by the wind that much. The only problem is that my Spin Milled chews them up quickly. I wish that they would be a little brighter in appearance. Great ball.

Awesome distance
Good spin on short irons
Less spin off the Driver (reduces over fading/drawing)
A wee bit firm off the putter face but still nice feel
Once you get used to it you will love it.
Only prblem is the durability. The HX Tour 56 is terrible for cuting up and the HX Tour is only a bit better, if you catch a thin shot the ball will be scuffed for sure, you will see the yellow colour underneath.
You can beat the Titleists for just about everything but you can't beat the them for durability.

In short - If you want performance but don't mind scuffing and cutting your ball when you mishit a shot then this is the ball for you. If you absolutely must have a resilient ball then go with Titleist.

The new HX Tours will be my gamer ball for the season. They feel amazing, get good spin but not too much, and are long. Most importantly I find them to be extremely durable. I have played 27+ holes with one ball and it still looks good. You can tell it has been played, but it is still playable. For a premium ball, the durability really can not be beat. Callaway has a winner.

Make sure you get the box that says "improved".

I have the "Improved" ball and it is nowhere near as durable as ProV1 / ProV1x or even the PTS Solo that I also use from time to time.

Obviously we all hit the ball differently but I don't have a very high swing speed and still the HX Tour cuts up on a 50yd pitch with a well used Cleveland CG10 52* wedge. I find it's worth it though because the ball takes one hop and stops dead!

I am not saying I don't like the ball, in fact it's my current favourite because of it's distance, feel and wind resistence but the durability is definately not up to Titleist standards for me.

I was not discounting your observation, but i do know that there are a lot of stores around that will keep the "improved" ball hidden. :) Just making sure everyone was hitting the right ones.

I hit the improved for the first time today and loved it. I think it is the most durable ball I have ever hit. Besides that though the ball is great in every aspect :)

Good , solid golf ball.

Like stated, hard to beat the Prov's but there is not anything bad you can say about this ball.

best ball for ME..and that is what really matters, if you find a ball that suits your game, and this ball does. It is the longest ball I have EVER played, and works really good on approach shots..i dont see this leaving the bag.

Terrible ball, too clicky of the putter and wedges, my friend remarked they sounded like top flights. Tried before and I remember saying the same thing then, just didn't remember at Target. Anyone want three sleves let me know...j/k

Haven't tried the 56.

This Ball goes well off the driver and has good yardage from the irons. But it's just too hard, I can't stand playing this ball due to the feel from the irons, wedges and putter. Even with an Insert putter it feels too hard. In fact I think the latest Pinnicle is harder!

Great durability and shear resistance, but I couldn't control it and the feel from a forged set of irons was just wasted.

I gave away all the remaining balls I had of these. Won't ever play it again...

Good: Very long and without doubt the straightest ball ever, especially in the wind.

Bad: Difficult to putt with, cuts up very easy on wedge shots, doesn't seem to check up as well as other premium balls (Ones, Z-UR[C/S], ProV1[x])

Nice ball but cuts too easy with wedge/short irons. Penetrate wind like hot knife through butter, good feedback on short irons. Wish it was little more soft for putting....

The best all around ball I've ever played. Used to be a diehard prov1 man...then prov1x....now hx tour. It is definately longer off the tee. Does not balloon like a prov on occasion. It spins just a tad less than the prov1x into the green. Which I happen to prefer...some times prov1 spun to much. Short game chips and pitches control perfectly. Much much much more durable cover than the prov1x. Lasts an entire round vs. prov1 lasting a few holes tops. The one thing that the prov1x still has over the hx tour is the feel off the putter. I've used them all...and there just isn't another ball made that feels better off the putter than the prov1. But all around the benifits are greater with the hx tour. My fellow players on the mini tours are pretty split between these two balls. Kudos to Callaway!

I absolutely love this golf ball. I gave the ball a 4 rating, but I would have given it a 5 before the Tour ix came out. I still play this ball in almost every round and use the Tour ix only in Tournaments.

I tried this ball at the weekend. It feels nice off the driver, but a little harder than I am used to off the irons (especially around the green). It was predictable though, and stops well enough for a low-spin ball on the greens. It feels clicky off the putter - that's something I usually hate, but with the HX I actually enjoyed it. Maybe the harder feel offers more feedback, I'm not really sure why. I didn't like the same feel off the wedges though. Durability was OK - they scuff easily, but didn't cut or go out of shape for me.

I don't think I will use this as a game ball because it feels too hard for me, but I was impressed enough to buy a sleeve of the HX56 and Tour ix as a comparison.

That's a good price on a great ball. Played in a charity event last week, received bunch of Dick's coupons, will have to stock up.

To give you an idea of how I feel about this ball...its been three years since I first posted my review of it and I'm still playing the HX Tour.
