We stayed and played at Penn National this past weekend. Penn National has 2 courses, The Founders Course and the Iron Forge Course. We only played 9 holes on the Founders as we found it less than suitable for us. Decent enough condition, just too tight with TONS of trees and super long rough. On the other hand, the Iron Forge course was the "BEST cart golf I have ever played". Iron Forge had it all and was a very forgiving and fair test of golf. The greens on both courses were top notch. If you don't mind the 9th hole ending no where near the clubhouse, then you will like Iron Forge. The rooms were adequate, spacious, although somewhat outdated. Most of the staff were friendly except for the cart guys, usually older gentelmen, but in 3 days I never heard a "Good Morning" or a greeting of any sort from them. They market this place very well, but I don't feel it is a 4 star overall experience as they advertise....the only other thing that bothered me was that the General manager allowed two fivesomes to tee offf ahead of my threesome without offering us to play ahead of them at the first tee. I found this completely rude, especially when our group had to wait on a majority of tees to hit our shots. Go here to see the pics:
