Anything from callaway that I've hit feels hard as a rock. Not saying I've played them all, but even the tour balls I've found and tried felt terrible.?? I also thought the TM burner felt hard also??

Without a doubt ... the Top Flite Stata Tour Ultimate(one with orange logo) and the ProV1*

Interesting. The "Strata Tour Ultimate" (no Topflight logo, but with the 'orange swirl symbol) was my favorite ball of all time (other than cover durability). It worked very well for me on full shots and would absolutely dance around the greens from inside 40 yards.

Buddy of mine picked up something called a Polara.  was supposed to eliminate hooks/slices, eliminated pretty much everthing.  He let me hit one of the tee, and I was like, what a POS that is.

Oh yeah, close behind was the TM InnerGel....OMG what was that???

I found one of these int he rough and decided to hit it to the green since I usually play two balls in practice round. Holy crap are they horrible. The bad news is I find them all over now in white and yellow.

definitely the Nitro.....so inconsistent it was laughable.......even more laughable was that I was on their Staff for 6 months.....that is when I started marking my ball by drawing a line through the name of the ball.....LOL.

I have hit pretty much all of the balls listed as all the junk balls I find are at the inlaws house and are used for hitting into the field behind their house in the spring.  But far and away the worst ball I have ever played is a Thommo 509 ball (12 pieces of petrified turd) that I received for playing in a team event last year.  Couldn't even give them away.
These things are so bad that I won't even hit them out on the range simply because I don't want to contaminate the range balls.

Easy now, my only ever hole in one was with a Spalding Tour Edition  (circa 1992)....  i used to work in the Wison golf ball factory during summer breaks from college and all the various models they made were all kinda crappy..

Haha! I love this thread!

Molitors and Kro-Flites bring back great memories! Back in college we thought we were players because we played Titleist x-outs meanwhile all time making fun of the squids that played the Molitors and Kro-Flites that we found!

LOL!

Might as well get this first post out of the way...

Worst ball, ULTRA and  ULTRA Distance. Anyone remember these? Very popular at the time. A real marble.
Also, the Titleist HVP something or another.

Why can't Callaway produce a decent ball?

After the obvious rockflites and pinnacles the worst for me was the TP Black, felt like a rock, didn't spin, weird knuckling ball flight.

I was going to say the TP black too, but for different reasons. They spun too much for me and didn't go anywhere. They also seemed to knuckle sometimes though. I bought eight dozen two years ago before trying. One of the dumbest purchases I ever made. The only thing dumber was that I sharpied my initials on all of them one night and now I can't sell them! Dumb.

Disagree the D2+ Feel is very soft and sooo long. At least for me.
My least favorite ball is probably low end callaway balls like the warbird 2.0

Wound so they went soft quick.  Felt like hitting a soggy and wet cat.  Dive bombed into the ground after 100 yds.

The famous Royal +6. Was supposed to be six yards longer than anything on the market.  Bought a sleeve of then when they first came out about 35 years ago.  They went a long way when new, at least compared to the other "premium" wound balls of the day. The problem was finding them. :)

Given hype, price, what they are meant to compete with, etc.... The Nike 20xi-x... I thought it felt hard, spun less and wasn't any longer... Huge disappointment.

Absolutely the worst ball I ever played was the Macgregor Tourney balata ball in the 60's-70's.  Those things were not even round when you took them out of the sleeve.  I can't believe Nicklaus won majors using those POS's.  Someone said once he would have won 5 more majors had he used Titleist early in his career.  After playing one round with the Tourney I believed it!

All of the other balls you guys mentioned are bad but at least most of them are round.

My home course's range has a few Spaulding balls mixed in with the regular range balls. I refuse to hit them, because the sound and feel is absolutely horrid. It's the loudest, most obnoxious "clack" I've ever heard.

+3 or +4 whatever we're up to on the Molitors.  No one that hasn't hit one should be allowed to be nominate any other ball in this thread.
