I help out the JR high golf team and have been working with this one kid that really has a good work ethic and actually tries what you tell him! My wife is a school nurse and has told me how nice this kid is at school and he is just a really good kid. The irons he has are some off brand blade iron with ceramic faces and graphite shafts that his grandpa gave him. He wants to try and make the highschool team but those irons are not going to cut it. He is being raised by his Single mom and they don't have the money to buy him new irons.

I have a set of tour issue Nickent 3dx pro heads(.355) sitting around. They were missing the 7 iron but I picked up a non tour issue head(.370) on ebay to complete the set. I would love to get a set of .355 shafts to put in these heads and then give them to him.  If anyone has a set of shafts you would be willing to donate or sell very cheap please let me know.

Thanks

Joe

I have some TT DG  R300's I've been putting off pulling he can have. Is that something that would work for him? Does he need anything else?

Thanks! R300's would be perfect for him!  His grandpa just gave him a R540 driver But I think he needs a 3 wood and he has his moms putter. lol. I was mostly concerned with the Irons because those single clubs can be found used pretty easy and cheap but newer irons are a little harder to find.

I just got the shafts that "Agent Jim" sent out and have the irons assembled. "Drewspin" sent me a putter to go with the other items and I am also giving him my TM Rescue Mid 3.  I think that is a pretty good start to a Jr's  bag and some stuff he will be proud to play with in highschool. I am going to drop the stuff off to him on Friday after he gets out of school. We are having some decent weather so he might actually get to try them out before it snows!.  Lets hope my epoxy holds up!!!!!!!

Thank you for donating the stuff for Tyler, I am sure he is going to love it. I will post back with his reaction Friday night.

here is a crappy cell pic of the freshly glued irons...

Thanks for the offer! I think the only other thing he needs is a decent 3 wood or even a 4 wood. But that is not really a big concern, I believe that kids would do a little better by not having too many choices in their bag when first starting out. Going from a driver to a 3 iron hybrid is not a bad way to go and also having to many wedges is a bad Idea as well. I like the idea of them havig a pitching wedge and a sand wedge and thats it. Once he gets good with those other clubs he can start to fill in the bag.

Thanks

Joe

They look great. He's going to want to hit them immediately. I wouldn't tell him about golfwrx, we don't want another junior golf ho around here LOL.

Thanks! I hope my epoxy holds, or else :black eye:   LOL

Even though the 3dx's are a little older, how many kids can say they play tour issue clubs? I took everything over today as I couldn't wait to get them to him.(or was it because I was afraid I would go hit them?) LOL.  I also threw in one of my new Nickent visors to go with the irons.
He was shocked when I handed them to him! I am not a big hugger but he gave me a giant bear hug! lol  He was actually planning on playing with his grandpa this weekend so now he really can't wait to go. He just really loves the game and it feels really good to help him out.

Drewspin..... He really liked the putter, he said his grandpa has one like that and he loves it but his grandpa is not giving it up! lol

Thanks
Joe

Tyler got to use the clubs this past week in a scramble with his Grandpa and a couple of his grandpa's buddies. He said they were awesome and they used over 90% of his shots! He said they are so much easier to hit than his old ones and felt really good. He also said the putter was working and he likes it.

He also said none of the heads fell off! :partytime2:

Thanks again!!!

I had glued my lob wedge a few weeks ago, so yes this is the first set I have glued. I really spent most of the time prepping and cleaning. I have read that most of the failures are due to bad prep work and not the epoxy. It was fun to do and if i had the room at my house I would love to have a little workshop!
