ROBO, you by chance have any inside scoop on them bringing the 7a3, 8a4, etc... out in the New Black Version?  I know they said no, but sometimes they just wait a while to release that info.

I will be interested in trying the new PX shafts. I have played PX shafts for the last 3 years and really like them. I'm not at all impressed with the graphics, but the graphics don't hit the ball so I can deal with it. Probably the biggest thing for me will be the price.

Kudos to whoever can hit the 7.0...lol

I have the satins in 7.0, won't be ditching them soon as they're impossible to find.... not chuffed to hear they've lightened the shaft.

Stupid question but am I right to assume this is steel?

As for the graphics look very...80's. I'm sure I used to own a shell suit with a very similar design, around the time Rick Astley was big.

That is absolute gold sir, i agree my room in the 80s was dripping with this kind of stuff... curtains / wall paper / bed sheets.. the 80s was a fashion faux pas... but in a strange way i loved it...

I would love to see the specs and comparison numbers from the ctapers and new px.  Are they going to have a different name associated with these?

What is this shaft to be called?  We have a rifle shaft already and a project x shaft.  What is this one?

release date and price please "true temper" when u read this

i'd much rather see them graphics wrapped all around the upper part of the shaft!

Release Date - Around the 2012 PGA Show (end of January, beginning of February)

Price - MSRP is $70 fitted and installed. $40 as a component.

TTS

Why so much money when you can buy a Dynamic Gold for $12 to $14?

Is TT now installing shafts?

Is this shaft better than a Monaco?

What will this shaft be called?

I just got fitted and the current Project X was recommended at 6.1, fortunately I didn't order them yet. I'll have to give these a try first to see if there's a feel, spin or distance benefit, because the "old" Project X's felt great when I tried them.

The only thing I don't like about the new version is the sicker, it's too busy.

It's called the PXi.  It is supposed to have a slightly higher ballflight and lower spin, along with improved feel compared to the original PX.  It is also a few grams lighter, 112 vs 120 for the 6.0

Well the graphic are better than the orginal with the yellow, but I still like to older graphics better. Of course isn't not the graphics that hit the ball so I guess over time I could accomodate the new graphics.

Just hit the new Project X5 .5 shaft in a six iron. The first word that comes to mind is butter. Not something usually associate with the project X shaft.felt very smooth, far less vibration than a normal project X.ball flight was very similar to original project X ... maybe a bit higher but not' spinning to much. a certain winner.

The new shaft is lighter (116 grams in the 6.5) than previous versions.

At 116 grams, I think it's pretty safe to assume they are steel.  Nobody is investing R&D time and money into producing heavy graphite shafts for irons anymore.

the Matrix  Programe shafts are 128/130  grammes?

Graphics actually are pretty cool. Stickers underneath the shaft.can't be seen at address. And they look pretty tame in person

So I just ordered a set of MP-59s with Project X 6.5s.  Did I miss out?  Or are these replacing the old PC shafts and my new club s will come with these?  How much of an upcharge over normal Project X shafts if not direct replacements.

I'm not a Project X guy, have always played DG shafts and just switched to KB shafts for this upcoming season.  Always thought PX had no feel to them and spin too much in the AP2 and CB heads I have played.

I do like that these PX shafts are lighter, the R&D seems legit.  The graphics are pretty good, could be a better sticker design but they look to have a winner here...

Several questions, (Hopefully true temper will answer these, would like to know from the manufacturer)

1. will these be available in a flighted set? (If it helps, they will be in the bag if there's a flighted option)

2. How do these compare to current PX.  Is the launch higher or lower, is spin higher or lower?

Really want to try these shafts... especially if they launch the same or higher as my PX flighted 6.0's, love those shafts.

One last question for true temper,
   Why are they so expensive?

Your goal has to be to make money right? Quite honestly, you're losing buyers because people don't have $320 to blow on shafts for their irons alone.  I think we all know that it doesn't cost anything near $40 to make that shaft so I don't know why it is being sold at that.  I would absolutely buy a set but now myself and millions of other golfers cannot because we've been priced out of these shafts.  All this is coming from a loyal PX fan.  I think the Project X Shafts are the best out there and was stoked to see these.  When I read the price though, it was a little disappointing to see a company I so thoroughly liked show a healthy disregard for their consumers by producing a product many cannot afford.  Even thirty dollars is a lot.  I really think true temper (a company of which I am a big fan) should remember that a lot of people can't afford to just blow excessive money on their clubs; this isn't just a game for rich guys.  Think of all the college age kids and juniors who are the future of the game, they don't have lots of money; they're the future of the game and your sales.  It would pay off in the long run to build a large loyal fan base.  That being said, if you have a legitimate reason as to why they are so expensive, I'll be the first one to buy a set.  Please explain how a steel shaft could possibly be worth that much money.  (Hint, it's not because they will lower my score or because that's what the market will bear.  I'm part of the market and telling you, a large part of that market cannot afford to bear that much)  I really want to be convinced because I think these shafts would be a great fit for my game, make me believe.
