I think so also..... I play the 6.0 PXi and am very happy with them..... I feel they are easier to play and swing than S-300 because of the weight. My opinion is .,,. Better Feel, Flatter Higher Flight, Ideal Spin, Longer Distance.....

Bump to attempt to get more feedback on flex. True Temper says tour players are using the same flex as they did on their PX shafts. Some say these are playing softer.

Anymore feedback???

I do think they play nearly the same flex but I feel the lighter weight might make it feel softer. It's possible that it might be a fraction softer in longer clubs but I'm no expert. I do notice less harsh feedback from regular PX shafts. I had a TM set with PX 5.5 not long ago and that set was softer than this set with PXi 6.0

I'm still liking mine's after nearly couple months(I think) and not looking to switch to a different shaft anytime soon. This winter has been mild which enabled me to play more often than I normally do in SW Missouri winters. I'm waiting for couple certain OEM's to start offering them as an option so i can try out a set or two.

My go to flex is DGs300 and think in this shaft the best will be a 6.0 PXI. The lighter shaft and higher flight of the PXI makes me want to error on the stiffer side.

I believe you'll be fine with 6.0. I moved into those PXi 6.0 from DG S300 shafts that I had been playing for a long time.

Anyone compare these to DGs300 lately?

I wonder how much the spin numbers increase on the launch monitors.

This sounds amazing.  These PXi are on my list of "must try's" for 2012.

The flex matrix attached within the original post shows 7.0s available.  So far, I have not been able to source these online.  Are 7.0s available?  If only 6.5s are available, hardstepping to achieve 7.0 leaves the wedges soft.   What are the stronger players with a preference for 7.0 doing through the PXi set?

I was told by a PX retailer, that right now the 7.0's are only available through the tour department.  If they are on the matrix, they should be offering them some time.  As of right now, they are not at retail though.  Kind of sucks.

Was considering this shaft in the Titleist 712 AP2. Talked to the Titleist staff and they said that shaft will have similar spin and ball flight characteristics to the regular Project X, but in a lighter weight. Of course, it's lower launch and we all know.

I am tempted to try these. I use the standard PX 6.0 right now, What will I notice over those?

Playing 6.0 PXI for  over a month.  Love them and can't imagine going back to S300 I was playing previously. Solid, stable and not harsh. I wasn't a fan of the PX shaft but this one is a different beast.

I used to play project x 6.0

Played PX 5.5 hard stepped for a season and hated it.

Playing KBS C Tapers in Stiff and not a fan.

The true temper site said that I fit into a PXi 5.5.

Can anyone comment? Should I stay in 6.0 or go 5.5? I'm liking the idea of the 5.5 since it is lighter than the 6.0

I hit my 7 iron 160-165. My driver SS is between 108-113, but I baby my irons. Stricker like swing on the irons.

I think many people-including myself- are mistaken when saying the Pxi’s are playing soft to flex when compared to PX because they are lighter.  Instead, I think the Pxi ‘s are playing softer to flex not because they are lighter but because the mid section and especially the butt section of the Pxi shaft is much softer when compared to PX.  I think this makes it feel soft to flex when compared to the PX.  However, the tip stiffness in Pxi and PX are actually the same.
I was really hoping to like these shafts when I demo’d them (5.5 & 6.0) in a Callaway Razr Muscle Back head but I left the session saying these shafts are not for me in this head. The Pxi’s made the head wt feel really heavy compared to the same head shafted with PX or KBS.  I felt like the head was heavy, the tip was stiff and the mid and butt section of the shaft was very soft, loose and somewhat whippy.  The only way that I was able to make the shaft work well was to slow my tempo down to where I felt I was only swinging 70%; NOT the way I want to play golf.
I must say, that when I didn’t try to go after the ball or play different shots but, just swing easy, the Pxi shafts felt very smooth with a nice mid ball flight trajectory.
My take away is that the Pxi shaft will probably work well for very smooth tempo swingers as opposed to players like me who really like to go after the ball trapping it at impact.

I love the PXi shaft.  I purchased a set of 4-PW MC's that had the PX 6.5 and bought the 3 iron separately than happened to have the PXi 6.0.  On my last round I hit the 3 iron on a par 5 and knocked it to about 8 feet and made the putt for eagle.  Now that is a beautiful way to start a relationship.  :D

It's very easy to hit, seems to be low spin, with a mid trajectory.  I love it.  This is one of my driving irons now.  It's really long off the tee or off the deck.

Dynacraft has collected some data on the Pxi 5.5 and it is a very diffferent shaft than the normal Px 5.5.

Picking up my 712 CB 2-iron with a PXi 6.5 HS+1 tomorrow...I currently bag C-tapers X SS+1 so it'll be interesting to see how they blend.

I'll let you know how they felt vs my C-tapers ( esp vs 3 iron )

Well, played in a wedding scramble and played 18 this evening.  I hit the CB 2i quite a bit with the PXi......AWESOME!  The thing definitely launches higher than my 3i C Taper but still low spin.  I loved the feel of the PXi.  It felt soft yet active.  I'm thinking of picking up another PXi shaft for my 3 iron.

As for the blending in with the C tapers, IMO they do go together.  I like the firm responsiveness in the short irons ( C tapers ).  I'd like to have that soft ( no effort ) long iron feel ( PXi ).

Please tell me I'm NOT crazy for mixing PXi's and Ctapers

I am looking for a shaft that is a hybrid of KBS Tour launch but DG spin, any ideas on what I shafts I should be looking at?

That is a big sticker! Probably 25% of the cost of shaft. Would have hoped for a bit lower flight....the weight is right though.

I swing 6 iron 97!  The TT site told me to buy 5.5...I'm in 6.0 px now.  I'm confused....especially after flipping through that pdf...should have had a warning attached!

i wouldn't say your crazy because golfers tend to do pretty crazy things, especially when it comes to equipment...as a club fitter, my school of thought is a combination between numbers, feel and looks (looks + feel = confidence) and therefor if something works for you and its putting up the numbers...keep it.  On the stock numbers side of it yes you are crazy, but these numbers come from robots that are specifically designed to be exactly the same everytime (better than tour players)...the pxi and the rest of the px family for that matter are classified as mid-high, mid spin shafts where as c-tapers are undoubtably the lowest of the low in spin and trajectory...as far as feel and looks go, thats up to you

Just ordered some Mizuno MP 64's with the 6.0 PXi...... Early Christmas!

I was hitting x100's in MP 63's and took the 6 to the range to compare vs mp64's with 6.0 PXi... was launching the PXi slightly higher and it felt like butter vs the x100's.
