im a nike fanatic but those are ugly just ugly like the machspeed irons.

Nice catch Greg. These are the new VRS Forged Pocket Cavity. I recall hearing the 'S' is for SPEED. Lightweight and all about distance.

Not as bad as the machspeed, but still pretty awful.  Pro combo long irons look much better.  I wonder how much easier the S forged will be to hit and if there is some obvious gains in terms of launch and control.  As always, performance is king.

The "S" is indeed for Speed.  The Japanese steel face gives it a higher COR than any other forged iron Nike has ever made, thus increasing ball speed significantly.

Wow.  Interesting that those clubs are already in the bag.  Technically, they are the Machspeed Forged from Japan.  Just re-badged.  He's an early adopter

Those are the new VR-S forged, rebadged Machspeed forged from Japan.  I think they'll perform well, they aren't too ugly but hey if they work people will play them.  I think Nike is gonna either a big hit or a big miss this year, I don't know how much I like the idea a using the same or hardly different machspeed designs and calling it the VR-S, maybe they think machspeed sounds stupid... kinda does... and I like Nike but I'm not too sure about the new offerings.

I have been bagging the Machspeed Forged for the last three months was wondering when VRS would show up in someones bags. The ball jumps off these irons like its shot out of a cannon. This is Nikes answer to the burners only in a forged option that has great feel. I generate off the charts smash factor numbers on trackman with these. I think we will see more pros carrying the longer ones for sure.

People complain about the looks of irons but there is only
So many ways to add weight to a iron.  
They are not to different than any of the
other pocket cavity irons on the market.
My buddy at Nike said these will be there
Best GI iron as of yet. He likes them .

Easier and more forgiving irons for the harder to hit clubs, CBs for middle irons, more of a blade for the scoring clubs.  A basic combo set.

The original 3/4 in the combo are channel cavity backs already... and pretty forgiving.
