nice bag. do you have any yardage gaps between your 4 iron and hybrid? also how do you find playing a 56 degree 52 degree wedge in terms of yardage gaps or versatility between the 2 for shots from the fairway?

it really depends, I can hit my 3hybrid around 205-210, and I can get my 4iron to about 190~, maybe a little more. I've got an ap1 3iron on order just because I'm more comfortable hitting a 3iron off the tee instead of the hybrid, but that's just personal preference. I'll probably ditch one of the gap wedges to get the 3iron in though.

as for the 52*-56* gap, I mean..I'm a lot more comfortable hitting my 52* wedge, I use it for a lot of my greenside shots and within 100yds.  I get my 52* to about 100-110. I don't really think I've ever used my 56* for a full swing besides at the range. maybe that's my problem with being inconsistent with chips, because I have a bad tendency to slow down on my downswing.

and yeah, the bag has a moody zipper that my buddy couldn't stand. so I beat him in mini-golf and got the bag cheaper than the 45$ he wanted. :D

First off great set up! As for your wedge dilemma I would take the 52 and 56 and bend them each 2 degrees weak. This will give you nice gaps of 4 degrees. GW: 50 SW = 54 LW/SW = 58

As for the 3 iron you are getting it most likely has about 21 degrees of loft so then your yardage gap may get to small between hybrid and 3 iron. To solve this you can alternate 3 iron and hybrid to your liking. Nice bag though and nice playing!

Thanks, I appreciate it, just gotta get rid of this regular shaft driver, it's way too whippy and light for a guy like me. I'm fairly young (22) hockey player who is 6'2 215#, so to me it's like I don't even feel the clubhead.

And that was my idea, or maybe even carry both for the moment. 3hybrid from fairway/rough if I can get the clubhead on the ball, and 3iron off tee for longer par3's

I just don't wanna carry too many wedges and complicate/confuse myself. I'm comfortable with my 52 and 56*, I used to have a 60* Nike SV wedge, and I could count on two hands how many times I used it.

Hey all, fairly new to GolfWRX and golf in general, only started playing more "seriously" at the beginning of the year. play to a 17.2 USGA index at the moment.
Just got these AP1's recently, was playing with a set of Titleist 735CM chrome finish before, which made life a lot more difficult, in my opinion. haha

My new dilemma is what wedges I should play. I'm pretty comfortable with my 52* Vokey, it's what I've always used to chip, but the AP1 GW is 50*, so it's almost like I should really pick one and get rid of the other.

Driver: TM 07' Burner, 9.5*,  Regular Flex 50g RE-AX shaft, GP Tour Wrap 2G (Currently in the market for a new driver at the moment)
3 Wood:  TM 07' Burner, 15*, Stiff Flex 50g RE-AX shaft, GP Tour Wrap 2G
Hybrid: TM 08' Burner Rescue, 19*, Stiff Flex, 60g RE-AX shaft, GP Tour Wrap 2G
Irons: Titleist AP1 710 4-GW, S400 shafts, std length, 2* upright.  GP VDR Red
Wedges: Titleist Vokey Black Nickel Spin Milled CC (52*), Titleist Vokey Black Nickel Spin Milled (56*)
Putter: Odyssey White Hot XG Rossie Blade, Stroke Saver Slim Grip.
Ball: Taylormade Penta TP
Bag: Callaway Warbird X Stand Bag (was 35$, can't complain)

That is an awesome looking bag - I'm jealous.   I love TaylorMade clubs!!1

You have like my exact yardages expect im a little shorter with my 3 wood but other than that were like the same. I also dip when I get fast.

Yeah I have a tendency to drop my left shoulder when I get quick instead of getting it back and to the left of my target line. I can usually tell with my followthrough. If I miss right, I never get my arms up towards my head, they'll end up across my midsection pretty much.

Don't know if that makes sense or not, but yeah, I got pretty good with my 3wood, both off the tee and off the deck because of my past tendencies to slice with the driver. I thankfully fixed that bad OOT tendency for the most part. lol

little update..got myself a 3iron, removed the hybrid from the bag. snap hook city for me lately, I've lost all confidence with it.. and I also got rid of the heavy callaway stand bag, I snatched up a black/black ping 4under with the retractable straps for a very good deal, couldn't resist.

next is a putter, looking at a black series tour designs #9..and this driver needs to go..and then I think I'll be happy. :P

I'm gonna get to try it this weekend, although apparently I got the wrong headcover, it's supposed to be all black and say "tour design"., although I don't mind because it matches the ping bag well with the normal black series one

absolutely loved the putter today. first time using it outside of a store. shot my lowest round ever today, and lowest 9hole score ever. shot 1 over on the front (38), and 84 overall. (46 on the back, few bad wedge shots got me in trouble, par 73 course). mind you, this is my first year still. :P

Nice round man! I have been playing kind of bad"ish" lately mainly thanks to the 34 degree weather shot 42 on 9 holes today with a triple and 2 lip outs Posted Image. Where do you live and is the weather still good wherever that may be? Also my first year.

long island NY, and ehh, was like 45* this morning and then it started getting windy and the sun went away for a while, it dropped down to 40, but my phone said it "feels like 33*"

I could have easily went lower on the back, just some bad lies/muddy balls for my approach shots on a few holes.  Still won some money today though, won my flight and closest to the pin. :P

thanks. :) shot 88 today in this cold weather (25* when I woke up, got up to 42* by the time I was done), won my flight again for some $$, and managed to scramble a bunch since my ball-striking wasn't so great. Still in love with the putter too. :P

shot 88 once again today, 40-45deg, windy day. absolutely love the putter now, especially at the shorter length now (33" as opposed to my old 35's that I've had), in particular I remember that I drained a 25ft putt just off the green for a birdie, and missed another 30ft from the fringe by about an inch or so.

I really want a new driver though..debating if I wanna buy a 909d2 or something like that though.

I told you no to the 909d2, why wont you listen to me.  How often am I wrong when it comes to stuff involving golf.  Trust me don't do it.  Defiantly not the club your looking for Brian.  As for the putter, I know you like no one else does on here.  ITS ALL IN  YOUR HEAD!! Figured I'd bash you on here to add some fire to this thread since no one is posting and all your doing is updating with recent scores.  Love you :D

went to the range with the set of chrome 735cm's that I had in the basement..hit them so good, that I'll be playing with them this weekend..they feel so good in comparison to the ap1's..and not so bulky..maybe it's just my imagination, because the difference is probably only a couple grams..
