Just finished playing a round with my new R11 irons. And I am so glad I bought them. I had been playing the Diablo Edge irons for about a year now and decided that it was time for a switch. Went to my local shop, my numbers were up on the monitor with the R11 irons so I bought a set with graphite shafts.

After my first round I gotta say in extremely happy with my purchase. I've never been a long hitter (about 160 with a 6-iron) but with these new clubs I was hitting my irons 10-15 yards longer than with my Diablo Edge irons. Even hits off the toe went about 90%.

The feel was great too, shot an 83. Can't wait to get out there again.

Congrats on the new sticks! After all this hype I am hearing I really need to give these a try.

You really do, I was skeptical at first, but the numbers don't lie.

I love mine, they have so much feel and I am crushing these compared to my first cheapo top flite set. I had a hard time adjusting because the distance was so much greater then my other clubs.

The diablos are no slouch either......  Congrats on the pickup.  I've got to see if my club has a demo iron to try these out with all the good buzz going on.

Ya my Diablos are easier to get in the air, but when I'm getting 10-15 more yds the R11s are staying in the bag for a while.

I played R7's and R9TP's.  I would say the R11's give R7 playability with R9TP looks.

I never thought anything would ever replace my Ping Rapture V2 graphite's. There was a small adjustment period & that was mainly due to the increase in distance as these are very easy to hit & with a better feel than I was expecting. Love my R11 graphite's. I do miss my Pings but no regrets in buying the R11's. They are that good

You are getting more distance with the R11 just because they are 1 degree short of a full club stronger.

I love My R11's and comming from a combo r7 and r7tp set it looks basically the same top line wise. looks are super sharp and clean. Feel is awesome just like the R7's and distance is a little longer. They are worth a try and let me tell you after that you will be very impressed.

you gained distance because the r11 6 iron is basically a 5 iron.

I haven't hit hte irons, but don't like the fact that the lofts are so strong.  I'm not a long hitter (8i 160 yards), but I prefer not to have a huge gap between my PW (140) and my GW 53* (125).  For me, a 49* PW is perfect, so I actually prefer the weaker clubs.

Then, your 3i basically becomes yesterday's 2i which makes it even harder to hit.

If you are hitting your 8i 160.....you are a well above average hitter for length - For me if I'm 150 out to the pin with no wind to speak of an 8i will leave me short. My 52 gw is my 110 club....so trust me you may not be BIG long but you are certainly above average and if you are accurate with this length then you should get down nice and low.

I would love to be hitting a 9i from 150!

All the strong loft bashing is stupid to me. If the strength of loft makes the ball fly too low then fair enough, but if the design of the club launches the ball higher then surely a stronger loft is justified. If you get more distance with the same, or similar, ball flight then surely that is a positive?

Order them weak if that's an issue?!

I just demoed (and ordered) R11's. I think they're a fantastic ironset, and that TM hit the nail on the head with these. Perfect compromise between playability/feel and forgiveness. And I even think they're pretty!

The R11 PW is 45*, the AW is 50*.  This is within 1* of one club stronger than "traditional" lofts (and common for "modern" CB sets), making a 4-AW set nearly identical to a 3-PW set with traditional lofts.

I switch back and forth with my two blade sets and it's an easy transition.

people are not bashing it they are just saying the reason you get extra distance with these irons is because a 6 iron with most irons is a 7 iron loft on the R11s hence the extra distance you get, these are starting to grow on me and might have to give in and buy a set

Honestly, all it is, is just getting used to the idea of, "I need to hit a 5 when I used to hit a 6."  After a couple rounds, it's not a big deal.  I had the Burner 2.0s this season.  Once I got past that mental hurdle, it was fine.

same here had the burner 2.0s aswell but really didnt like the black fading of them looked really bad after a few months, so these would be best i hope

He said he's 10-15 yards longer with R11's vs. Diablo Edge. The lofts are pretty much the same, actually Diablo Edge PW is 44 degrees vs. R11 45, so that blows away the stronger loft reason. The R11's launch high, higher than my R9TP's and I have C-Tapers in my R11's. Chrisday 83 hit it on the head, you can't just go by loft anymore, you have to look at ball flight. I'm loving my R11's...Sidenote, the R11 AW and SW are really good!!

Demo'd a 6 iron on the monitor today. It was a stock 6 iron with a kbs shaft. I felt it was launching way too high for me. Seemed to just fly off the face.

Yes even though the R11 heads are about the same size or even a little shorter heel to toe than R9TP's. I think the R9TP's dig in a little more for me, maybe have a sharper leading edge. Only one round though so far with R11's.
