Whoa. I'm just speechless with these irons. Just speechless. Seriously....

So I see them in the the Golfmart today while my tires are getting changed. Saw them last night in Golf Digest and just had to try them. I've been lusting after the PING Anser irons for quite some time, but wanted to try them on a whim.

Looks: THESE are what an iron looks like. Whoa. While I love my Diablo Forged immensely, these irons are just so simple and pure at setup. The transition from hosel to face is so so smooth, and seamless. Just the right amount of offset, even in the PW! And I've never been a fan of the Mizzy PW, but these are slick. I just can't believe how pleasing these are to my eye. Wow!

Feel: okay, so I've been a convert to forged for quite sometime. My Diablo Forged have converted me. Really. And while the Anser's and AP2's are kinda a soft thud, I'm finding a hard time finding the correct words to describethe feel of these. The word "pure" can be so overused these days, but it's accurate assertion for these. Dang. Even with my least favorite shaft, the DGS 300's, the feel is amazing. Mizzy is on to SOMETHING with these.

Dispersion: well. These won hands down. On the LM, I could put a blanket over my shots. 4 iron, 6-iron, 7-iron, 9-iron. Didnt matter. Just such a tight dispersion. Wow.

Distance: since I hit them on a LM, won't go into details, but let ms say I was impressed. Very impressed.

All in all, I'm thoroughly impressed. I want to use the Mizzy iron fitter to get the correct shaft, although heck, I may just go with the DGS300's.

I'll take pics soon as a comparion with others.

WOW!!!

Haven't hit them and can't comment on performance but it sure looks like the MP-59s are getting THE buzz, by a long shot, for this upcoming model year. Not sure I've seen anything like this since the Titleist AP line came out. Wonder if these are gonna be the next Tommy Armour 845s. Doubt it, but if the buzz keeps building for another 8-12 months as fast as it has began it may very well be.

I play MP-63s, my first Mizuno irons after 25 years of Hogan and Titleist. I still love the others, but I do see what I've been missing and understand all the Mizuno love.

I really don't have any comment on what the "best" irons are, but I will say that Mizuno, hands down, has the cleanest line of irons on the OTR market and it ain't close. You walk by their retail displays and they stand WAY apart from all the other badged-up stuff. Just pure class.

Gosh this makes me happy. I would certainly love to try these! Haven't seen them yet, and I bet it will be a while for places to get a demo lefty 6 iron. Who knows.. if I can save, might be my next set! I'm a huge Mizzy fan for irons.

My course has a set in the pro shop, looks like they have a demo set, I'm highly considering taking a 6i out for some shots. Loved the look at address, if they feel like they look, hello my gift for Christmas haha.

Yeah. I'm thinking the same thing. I know a pro shop that has a Mizzy fitting Cary. I can set them up with PX and KBS Tour, although truth be told, I'd love this set with Steelfiber shafts. That combo would be DIRTY!

I had the same experience and immediately ordered a set. They should be here any day...hopefully TODAY!!!!! I ordered them with DGS300 and will give them a few rounds before making a decision whether or not to install the Tour Concepts I have waiting at the shop.

Last I heard the irons were "in production" last Friday. C'mon Mizzy....I need my new 59s this weekend!!!

I got to take out a 6i from the fitting cart about a month ago and put it head to head with my MP-52's. It was no contest, the 59 was a completely different feel and the ball just seemed to glide through the air. I might get through the winter with my 52's but I will def be trading up on these no later than early spring.

I'm amazed how these irons are really getting the buzz. Sounds like they have a winner, much like Titleist did with their AP irons.

have played the 30s and the 32 of Mizzy and were very good. Hit these on a whim and was shocked....the wight transfer move with the titanium behind the sweetspot changes the feel to a bit diff from classic Mizzuno but the forgiveness went up as well as the distances...truly shocking yardages for a mizzuno with same shafts lofts and lengths. This is my next set - period

I am going to a demo day tomorrow at Haggin Oaks and Mizuno is supposed to be there with their fitting equipment. I was planning on demoing the MP-68 and 69s but maybe I should try these.

thanks for info.

When you go to Haggin, ask for Chris Hammond. He's THE best! That's mi amigo! Tell him Ramon sent ya. :partytime2:

Oh, you've got to try these. You'd be doing yourself a disservice by not trying them.

Not any more. Moved to SF 5 years ago. But the majority of my close friends are still in Sacramento. I'm a Sacramentan. Born and raised.

They're alll awesome at Haggin. I just love that place. Easily one of the BEST places to demo clubs that I've been to.

We should play sometime. I live in Mill Valley. My wife is from Sacramento. She grew up in Carmichael so when we go to Sac I usually hit at Haggin. My wife and mother law want to play now so the last time we went there it turned out that one of her neighbors is a manager at the store - I think his name is Bill?

Yes to the iron headcovers.

Mizuno got these right !! After the experiment with the MP58's with the titanium plug, which in my opinion didn't feel like a Mizuno at all, these are sweet! Looks, feel, etc are all top of the line in a little more forgiving cavity back(since with the plug they basically are). Solid offering.:ok:

Interesting. I actually remember it a little differently. The magazines were touting the 58's, but most of attention I saw from the avid golfing community went to the MP 68's.

CH3 switched immediately, that has to tell you something. and if Luke switches, that would be huge buzz for the 59s.

The more I see/read about these, the more I am considering not getting the 712 AP2 or CB and going with the MP-59s.

Yeah, the transition from hosel to face is just so seemless and smooth. Kinda like "liquid", as it flows so well.

Easyyy, you're going to LOVE those. Seriously.

As a side note: I demo'd them against the Anser irons, the AP2's and Razr X Forged. While I hit the entire set of the MP-59's, I only demo'd the 6-irons of the others.

While I have nothing bad to say about the Anser irons, the feel of the Anser compared the MP-59's is just so different. With the 59's, the feel is just SO crisp yet soft, it's really quite hard to explain. I'm still left wondering how to explain it.

Of the 4 irons tested, I found the AP2's to be the most "bulbous" and bulky. I was rather surprised at this, as I'd always considered the AP2's to be quite the player's CB, but in comparison to the others, they aren't. If the AP2's were a Kardashian, I'd say they would be Chloe (the one married to Lamar Odom). Attractve, yet full bodied.

Almost, unfortunately, it wasn't a fair fight, as the AP2's had the Nippon NS Pro 105T. These shafts SPIN the begeezuz out of the ball. I lost significant distance because I kep hitting skyrockets due to the shaft. I've hit the AP2's with DGS300's and PX6.0's, and found them to be very pleasing. But still the bigger brother of the 4.

And Razr X Forged were nice, but I didn't really care for all that much for the high toe. Also, I'm not really a big fan of Callaway's stance on having smaller, yet more & tighter, grooves. It just visually looks kinda odd to me. They setup nice though, but it's not my fav.

The PING's are a wonderful iron. I really like the sole grind and leading edge grind. Very, very soft at impact. Setup is very clean, with just a tad bit more offset than the 59's.

But when I set the 59's down, I forget about all of the other irons.... so so clean.
