Sitting in Kansas, exactly NO ONE, will have these shafts around to demo. The oem's will definitely not bring them to the "demo day" when they bring two clubs, one stiff and one regular...with slick grips. Live it up!

What about the attas and T2 series? Not even an honorable mention for a golfworks $400 shaft? Lol. I tried the t2 and the ad di 7x feels way better. T2 felt butt firm, with a soft bend profile if that makes sense

Nice thread E!

To make testing worthwhile, testers should agree to give the characteristics of their build, along with a posted PDF of their launch monitor results.  So to test, you should be willing to provide data from the LM as a condition of testing.  Also, no shaft test is complete without inclusion of the ATTAS series!

I'd be down for a little shaft testing... heck I already have a couple of the shafts on the list  .

(Cool idea overall, BTW)

You may also want to use those tees that have the discs on them (forgot the name) so that you can have constant heights for more precise results as well as test shafts with differing launch conditions ie high v. low tee heights and still be able to maintain a constant variable.

I too did not notice the Attas T2 series or the Accra Tour Z.

I think I'm going to pick up a Fubuki K.  Would LOVE an OZIK M3 Black Tie though, drooooool.

Um their the same price

great idea though. Im curious as to it will fall out. The coolest idea Ive seen was that one site that used a robot or whatever, and had a list of how it broke out. Thought that was pretty cool.

Ive only had a chance to try a couple of those shafts, the Project X 6.0 was very smooth for me.  But I am not a very fast swinger.

the launch numbers are pointless except for the person doing the test ...  unless we all swing with the same shaft load tempo and speed....     i would rather hear on course results  for all types of players  for a given shaft ..

I like the chart Titliest has put together.  I am intrigued by the Motore, can never have lower spin.

Since everyone loads it differently, there is going ot be a wide difference in feel and opinion. You would need to catigoize each person by swing class first I would think.

I agree and applaud Titleist for putting a chart together that helps to provide an "easy to comprehend" definition to how these will perform.   It's not perfect, but does help provide some level of perspective.

i don't think there can be an sincere argument about shaft of the year. The AD DI has immense presence on all tours, on the board, and the price point for pulls and new shafts has SKYROCKETED to epic proportions. When was the last time you saw pulls going for $200, a year after release. Whether you play it, or even prefer it, it was the shaft that moved the needle so to speak.

Using this criteria, I would think the Nunchuck would need to be considered.

I cant try any as there are no local retailers that carry them mounted in a head, so its a total crap shoot to try them based upon peoples reviews. well that and the price issue for a high performance shaft!

i agree with you to a certain extent.  but if i know and see your numbers and ten more testers with the same shaft (STOCK OEM SHAFT) i could hit the same shaft and see which one of the testers matched my numbers the closest.  then the "OTHER" shaft data could point me in the right direction.  having these numbers followed by some course testing would be awesome!

Late to this party, but sign me up for testing please! Especially that Fubuki K. :D

I'd test anything at this point though... I could probably provide both Trackman and on-course feedback, specific to myself of course, or maybe find a buddy or two to test as well. Thanks.

I recently added the UST Mamiya Proforce VTS (black) in the bag last month.  Great shaft without the high $ tag.  Definitely tightened my dispersion with a small gain of balls speed.

The two shafts I know I'm going to be putting in my Callaway Fit/Black driver(s) this year are the the Speeder VC 6.2 and.or the AD DI 6.

But as an aside, a particular aspect of the Titleist iron shaft chart boggles me as it relates to the Nippon 950Gh and 850GH.  I'm 100% certain having hit nearly all the Nippon shafts, that the relative disctinctions between the two shafts is not accurate.  Unless different testers were used, and perhaps even different iron head, there is no way the 950 launches higher and with more spin than the 850.  I'd also take exception to the 950 being the highest launch, highest spin shaft on that list.  I will be going back to a DG or DGSL shaft in 2012 for my next set of irons, the RAZR X Black, but not for any reason other than to have a somewhat different ball flight, and also to just have a different shaft than the ones I now play.

Anyway nice tech story blurbs on all these shafts guys, and looking forward to seeing some hands on impressions from some members who get to hit them.

This goes for a couple replies. It's one persons results, so all things all relative.

If I try a vts and it spins like a top, and the ad di spins less. Then that should be relative to anyone...

Basically the goal of the testing is to get some numbers and create our own chart with spin rates and launch angles. (correct me if I'm wrong but I think some people are Mis understanding the goal)
