First of all the finish is not wearing, that is a custom grind.  Second, these replace the X-forged, not the Jaws.  Thirdly, these will also be available in a satin finish for those of you who are saying you don't like the copper.  These'll be the sleeper wedge in 2012, Callaway is comin' out guns a blazin'!

I am liking these. They remind me of the first "forged" wedge Roger Cleveland made for them. The head is more rounded with a cleaner look. I am down with the copper look.

I hope these looks as good in person as they do here.  The only part of my Callaway bag that I'm not thrilled with is my wedges.  This'll get me excited for next year.

According to the shop pocket guide the black nickel finish won't be available in any lofts over 58 degree where as the copper will be in 60, and 64. Bit of a mistake if that is indeed correct

The photos I've seen of the 2012 catalog look like finsihes are copper and slate. Will there be a satin?

Answers for all!

No the leadingedgeof the wedge is not that sharp...

Yes the copper is just a finish that masks a raw new carbon steel body... I have hit this finish and think it is spectacular!

It comes in 2 finishes... Copper and what I would describe as a nickel finish. Non rust and no shine, just straight up nice!

The jaws will still be in line. Jaws wedges have a softer feel with I higher launch and a bit more offset designed for the regular player. The pros will play the new forged wedges that are more firm and aggressive. The tear drop design is less rounded and has a great appearance that is more attractive to competitive players.

They look sweet in hand as they best should coming from the best wedge designer in golf... Roger Cleveland! (who works for Callaway now in case youdidnt know)

If one likes understated, it says it -- well done.

Wide sole for a 52, though.

My guess is the player wants to get under the ball with that leading edge grind on the 58. I expected a little more relief on it, but maybe it's the angle.

No-go on the copper finish! The black should look much better IMHO!

Great profile & I also like the finish.  How many grooves do they have on that wedge?

22 grooves

More grooves = more spin right?  I wonder how the spin compares to the old MacDaddy grooves?

They look pretty sweet. Seems a lot of the big name company's are getting back to traditional looking iron and wedge heads....no complaints IMO

Great looking wedges :ok:

That sole grind gives me the heebie jeebies though, it looks like there is very little bounce and a sharp leading edge, unless the pics are deceiving ....... I would be curious to know what the standard grinds are and bounces etc.

Reminds me of the BeCu 588's-the Byron Nelson edition.

I usually do not care for Callaway wedges, but these things look great! Love the grind and the color.

I'm all jacked up for these. I've about worn my x-forged wedges completely out. I'll be picking up the black nickels and I can't wait. I've used x-forged for years and been very happy. Roger Cleveland is the man when it comes to wedges. It's still just weird that he has another company named after him.

I'm gonna have clubs from almost every OEM next year in the bag. I used to be anal and try to use only one brand, like I was a pro being paid for loyalty and marketing. Boy was I stupid, use whatever works. TM driver, Clev. 4wood, Adams hybird, Nike irons coming soon, Cally wedges and primarily an Odyssey putter. The putter may rotate brands from time to time, but hey. You gotta ho a little bit.

Color looks a little different but still pretty cool.  According to the Nov. Golf Digest these are coming to retail in February.

Looks really good similar to the older Callaway wedges.  I dig the grooves and the overall simple appearance.

i have had the opportunity to hit these and they feel just like the jaws cc wedges not to impressed... and my guy from callaway said that Derek Lamely is the only one playing these wedges at the moment. They are available to the public in February though
