Yes, well, otoh

Rory has shown that he has the guts to come back. Never forget his head down in his sleeve after it was clear that his first potental Masters win was not to be.

Would have shattered a lesser man's nerves for good. Clearly has a strong backbone and a great deal of pride to compliment his seemingly never ending well of talent.

Imagine if a golf tournament is 144 holes like the 1973 World Open Golf Championship in 1973 which was won by Miller Barber!

As far as I can remember he has won THREE 54 hole tournaments now. At Pebble, A play off (The Barclays? Shortened by a hurricane?) and now this week. All shortened due to bad weather. Rather than being a 3 round player it tells me he can play in extreme conditions and given his lowish and penetrating ball flight that makes total sense. Look out for extreme weather tournaments in future and get your money on Dustin! All points to The Open one year. He had the close call in Darren Clarke's year and came as close as anyone to Oosthuizen in 2010 when the weather stunk for a few days.

Not knocking him cuz a win is a win. I was, however thinking about this same exact topic while watching the last 2 rds. He has now won the last three PGA 54-hole tourneys in a row. I'm not looking to say he can't close or trying to insult his game, i'm more impressed by the streak. It's gotta give some confidence when you find out the event is shortened and think, "well, i won the last one, and the one before that, oh, and the one before that too!".

I don't dislike Dustin Johnson but it was ironic how a 54-Hole Golfer won a 54 hole event. Whether it's bad luck or blocked/shanked 4 irons, the man who can't close a tourney found himself in a situation where be didn't need to.  And he's laughing all the way home with a Fed Ex victory and a fat paycheck.
Ummm...... "the man who can't close a tourney found himself in a situation where be didn't need to".....I know Dustin Johnson doesn't seem like a brain surgeon but I'm pretty sure he knew it was the last round of the tournament yesterday.

Watching DJ play these last 3 days no one was going to beat him. I am sorry!   As said a Win is a Win, he has more then we do and has won 72 hole events has like 6 or 7 victories in 6 years on tour.

In all of the other three tournaments, was anyone NOT aware that the event was shortened?

I believe the AT&T at Pebble Beach was supposed to have a Monday finish but it was cancelled and Sunday's results stood.
This link seems to support that memory.

The OP was referring to a tourney from over a year ago.

I believe you're correct, and his win total is 7, not 5.  That's better than one win per year so far.  I think he'll do fine.
