Well to go back to the my post a few weeks back regarding the new planned releases from Cleveland here is cleveland golfs tweet for the soon to be released forged 588 wedge! Word from my rep before he went to this weeks meeting is that they will have custom options available much like the NC putter lines, (think custom grinding.)
Cant wait to see their new forged irons offering!

Some info cleveland is sharing on twitter

"will come in lofts between 46 - 64 degrees with multiple bounce options.
The 588 Forged boasts 1025 carbon steel for incredibly soft, solid feel.
The #588Forged also has Tour Zip Grooves and Laser Milled face to truly maximize spin.
The True Temper shaft (made specifically for #588Forged) adds stability to the club.
will be released domestically in mid-November. Exact date will be coming soon.
One great thing about these wedges will be custom features. Colors, grinds, stamping..."

Great looking wedge......  Probably will be out just in time for my CG12 to need replacing.  I played the 588s until I couldn't find them new any more.....just hope they release them with the DSG grind

Very vokey looking. I hit these in a test for Cleveland. Look good and feel great. They need to bring back the black melonite finish.

I'm sure they're just trying to capture some of the original 588 cult following. Satin one looks good.

Exactly. I was hoping they would bring back the 60°. That sole was brilliant- not to much initial bounce, but plenty of effective bounce with that wide sole. worked like a charm...

Completely agree.  WAAAAY too many stampings and very out of date looking as well.  Not interested.  Precision forged badging is horrible.

Yeah I was really hoping more for the old 588 look (like seen in all the pro's bags) but with the zip grooves... However these will provide you "custom fill" guys with plenty of places to paint.

The Tour-W's will probably just be replaced with some Rustiques now that they have acceptable lofts to choose from, lol.

Well...not bad.   I like the satin, but I could have done with a much more simple look.   Less is more.

+3. I'm sure they'll perform OK, but design wise they are fairly offensive to the eye.

WTF they ruined the nice look of the 588.  It looks like they let the putter designer puke all over this design. Someone needs to get fired. Posted Image

Good thing you can't see stampings from address :good:  I think the satin looks great.

nothing new about those wedges. Thay have been making forged wedges for the Japan market for years. We've just been getting the cheap crap cast ones.

Obviously never hit them, but with regard to the looks, it's hard to pinpoint exactly what I don't like about these...

They're just not good all the way around.  They've got more logos than a Nascar. Plus, the font and size of the logos is just all wrong.  And what the heck is that thing underneath Reg. 588?  Horrendous. :vava:

last time i checked, you cannot see the back of the club at address!

the best wedge maker in golf has listened to the public and brought a forged wedge to the market and now people complain about the back of the club head? give me a break.

ill take two of these ASAP!
