The loft of the eye 2 SW is 57.5. Both have square grooves.

I thought that the original eye 2's had the square groves, but then the USGA out-lawed squared groves, so they made the eye 2-plus so they would be conforming.

It's a question that I've always been asked..

I have a brand new green dot sw that I know for a fact is 53*.  The club was made by Ping WRX dept in June 2006.  Ping WRX uses black paint fill to distinguish from original Eye 2 models.  This too can be confirmed by calling Ping and using serial number 799916B.  Let me know if you are interested.  See pics.

the finish in your picture is called "guyson". it is an option  at  no charge if you order a new set of eye2+'s.it is not made to be distinguished from the original eye2 models.
