I was wondering what the loft is on a Ping Eye 2 Sand Wedge, also is it the eye 2 or eye 2 plus that have the box grooves that spin the ball morez?

The loft of the eye 2 SW is 57.5. Both have square grooves.

I thought that the original eye 2's had the square groves, but then the USGA out-lawed squared groves, so they made the eye 2-plus so they would be conforming.

    * Eye2 Lite models introduced in 1984, identified by PAT. PENDING in cavity and KARSTEN PHOENIX AZ 85068 U.S.A. right-side-up on back of top rail.
    * "U" groove models manufactured from Fall 1984 to Fall 1985, identified by U.S. PAT. D276644 OTHERS PEND. in cavity.
    * Radiused "U" groove models manufactured from Fall 1985 to March, 1990, identified by U.S. PAT. D276644 and 4.512.577 in cavity.
    * Modified "U" groove models manufactured after April, 1990 identifed by dot beneath patent numbers in cavity.

Sorry, I forgot to add, what does an orange dot on ping clubs signify?

Orange dot is 2* flat lie angle.

In addition to the above info, the Eye2+ sand wedge is 53*.

confirmed 57.5 but theres the funny thing...
when i ordered another sand wedge for my back up Eye 2 square grooves and giving Ping the serial number the new old stock sw was 55* and then i ordered another sw to match first set cos stupid me lost it...the replacement sw was again 55*

the finish in your picture is called "guyson". it is an option  at  no charge if you order a new set of eye2+'s.it is not made to be distinguished from the original eye2 models.
