The new Creation shaft by AccuFLEX features a unique long "butt"
parallel section that tapers quickly in the bottom portion of the shaft.
The Long "butt" taper stores the created energy longer, while the quick
taper at the end acts as a "hinge" that enables optimal unloading of the
shaft at impact, creating a
higher launch angle, with decreased back spin. This new shaft profile,
combined with
our proprietary NANOMET technology, NanoMetal Polymer Composites, allows us
to push
the shaft design limits, with precise weight distribution and variable
bending properties
throught the shafts profile, to accomplish a super stable shaft that has
unmatched feel, dispersion and distance producing characteristics.
Above is the quote i got from Accuflex!
First time I see this shaft in my hand, I notice that fat butt section goes all the way to about a little more than half way to the tip. Looking at that, i knew that this shaft will be a stable shaft and hits the ball higher. I admits that i though it's gonna be a butt stiff shaft, i was wrong on that one. I think this one had something to do w/ their pin point the variable bending properties design. They basically can stiffen or soften the shaft area that will maximize the performance and at the same time doesn't give up the feel.
Anyway, I proceed to put it on my tour issue head 9.5* at 45" D2 sw X flex no tipping...spined and flo'ed of course.
At 1st I was scared that the shaft it's gonna be to stiff, Nope! I was wrong. For my 108-110 mph swing speed this shaft is perfect.
This shaft has an awesome ION plated paint job, no doubt!
Ball flight is high enough but never seen a balloon one. Definitely come out hot from the face due to the unload movement of the shafts. The fat butt area make this shaft feel so stable through out the swing. This shaft feels smooth through out the swing and no doubt it has a lot of feel to it.
I was doing all this w/ my launch monitor turn on through out the process before and after. I notice that this set up gives me a better consistentcy in catching it on the sweet spot and ball flight pattern. Lower my spin rate a bit but not by much ( my style of swing produce a low spin already ).
IMO, The biggest thing that made me hitting the club better is that this shaft gives me a ton of feel to give me a better consistency on my swing.
Longer distance? May be not by much but definitely give me a better statistic. I may have to play it at the course that i know in and out to be able to tell how far i gain w/ this shaft. So far i only have a chance to play it 3 rounds.
So In conclusion, IMO The quote above are pretty damn close to my observation after testing this shaft.
Note: I'm comparing this shaft w/ the shaft that a lot of OEM put it in their clubs. Please don't make me say what brand was that. To many shafts out there to compare but yet it's all depends on the golfer it self and working together w/ a fitter to get the right shaft for their swing and game.
Again! This is just my observation according to my skill and swing characteristic.
