Sambas are ugly and the streets would be cool if they weren't Ecco rips offs. They didn't even change the name?

Oh man, I hate the street-style shoes, but have such a soft spot in my heart for Sambas. Still don't think I could wear them on the course, though.

Out of curiosity, any idea of price? I know regular Sambas are like $45 now, so it'd be pretty lame if these were $100 shoes.

I've been eying street shoes for quite some time, and these have certainly tricked my trigger! I can't wait to get a pair of each.

I can roll with the Adidas street.. But not really a fan of the indoor soccer looking shoes.

Not a fan of "street" style golf shoes (all seem to look like generic skateboard shoes from the 90's) but those Sambas are actually pretty good looking. Not sure if I want a pair but they're the best looking non-traditional golf shoe that's come out so far imo.

Not my BAG there, or in my closet matter a fact. I will stick with 5.0 when they come out.

The Sambas look nice, I would have rather seen those with the Street sole.

There is something off about the Streets, the design and colors are not quite right. Not true adidas originals, not quite inspired. Also feature same outsole as the Ashworth offering. Perhaps the should have used colored stripes. Good attempts out there, but not quite Eccos.

How about Gazelles, or a Y-3 golf shoe?

I'm just guessing that the majority of likes and dislikes of these shoes are based on age.

I'm guessing you are wrong. I think it has to do with taste more so than age. I'd laugh if I saw an older guy wearing those shoes though.

I'm young so maybe that explains it, but as far as style goes I'm pretty conservative ( I own black, white, navy, and red polos) and FJ icon saddles ( white/white) but I have to say, the prospect of sambas after work for a quick 9 sound pretty nice.

No, but they did make them waterproof. Something Ecco wasn't bright enough to do.

I've never previously been a fan of trainer style shoes on the golf course. As comfy as they are, there's something about trainers and trousers that looks very wrong.

That being said, I think I'm going to get a pair of those. Imagine how good they'll be for a quick 9 or even at the range!

Not necessarily. I can't tell you the amount of Samba's I owned in my youth. Those my age (30ish) will have grown up with these styles.

Futbol!!!!

Absolutely right though, Im 32 and sambas and gazelles are what I grew up wearing, but I think I think regardless of age just the name alone will appeal to alot of people, I know guys much older than me that feel the same way about the Sambas as I do, now thats not saying they would take to the golf shoe but it will have enough of a loyal following to make it worth it. And as a previous post mentioned, a pair of some nice suede gazelle spikes would be sick.

Some suede Gazelle's would be sweet mate. How about a pair of all white Stan Smith's with velcro straps!

I'm 31 and would happily wear the Samba's. Not a big fan of the Street model though. The shape doesn't look right. Need to find the right style of trousers but I'm definitely going to purchase the white/green version.

I'm with you on this, and that's why I'm not into the street-style shoes. But I will say that I think those Sambas would look better with a pair of techno-fabric golf pants--or especially a pair of shorts--than a lot of the athletic-style stuff that's out there. And they do look a whole lot less "trainer-y" than something like, say, the Asics golf shoes.
