tbowles - that is an excellent idea but I just did that. :(  I went through a SAM puttlab fitting session last fall and even then I had a strong arc.  I was fitted to a putter at 33.5" and 69* lie.  I've since had three gamers adjusted to that and while I do see improvements the iPing app still shows me having a strong arc.  That is where my dillema lies.  Do I change putters?  I've tried to 'fix' my stroke with little success.  The SAM puttlab fitter did recommend the putting arc trainer but I never got one.  Just tried to fix it myself.  :russian_roulette:
Then as Ping says, "Change your putter.  Not your stroke."

I got fit last week.  I'm still going to adjust my sticks, but I did buy a Nome to see if a difference would be made.  Don't go belly or long just yet.  Stick to the specs that the fitter and the APP recommended and have Ping make one for you.  If you're "handsy", ask for a larger grip and see if that helps.

All I can say is that when I used the model putter to my specs, all of my misses were inside the path of the cup unless it was just a bad stroke on my part.

I did switch to a midsized grip recently and that also helped a little but I haven't tried something oversized.  It's not that my speed is off - it's my lines.  My main miss is left so the PING app recommends either the Anser 4 or Anser 6 to help with that.  Those necks vary greatly from what I've been using.

Not yet but I did try a TM Spider Vicino with some success.  I do like the looks of the Nome.

Then I would start there. It can be weighted for a strong arc and made to the exact dot/specs you need. Or you can try any other style you might like.

IMHO, using a trainer such as Putting Arc/chalk line during practice is essential to developing a consistent stroke.  Otherwise you learn to make compensations while you practice to get a good 'result' ie make putts.  But in the process you might be learning to aim poorly and make a compensating swing path which is impossible to duplicate consistently on the course.  Fitting is important in that you have to be able to aim the putter down your target line.  Find a putter that you aim, WHERE you eyes tell you that it is aimed.  Not that easy to find......Good luck.  Scott.

Considering I spent $25 on a PING ball repair tool last week, I think $30 for the cradle is an awesome deal.

Just curious.... how does this "tool" repair your balls? :WTF:

what about training putting with just over 140 grams added to your putter?  It needs to drop in weight,

I'm thoroughly enjoying my iPing cradle.  I played around with it this evening on the putting green at the club for a long time.  I have a strong arc type of stroke.  I'm going get a #4 or #6 milled this next week.  I'm looking forward to putting it to the test.

I also just received my i20 irons this week, which are just amazing clubs!  All I need is some Tour S wedges and I'd have a full Ping bag...including the bag itself!?  Totally not planned that way, I just got the best stuff for me and it ended up that way.

Ping has added some new measurement parameters to the application in a free update. It now also records your lie angles at address and impact and shaft lean at address and impact. Very useful for fitting!

Just be aware that they've chosen to present these numbers a little differently from the "usual". Lie is expressed as shaft deviation from the vertical, rather than the horizontal. So if your putter's lie angle is a bog-standard 72 degrees and you sole it flat at address, the app will show (90 - 72 =) 18 degrees. Similarly, forward shaft lean has a negative value (corresponding to the number of degrees by which the putter face is delofted) and backward shaft lean a positive value (vice versa for added loft).

Thumbs up,  :smilie_ping: !

I was just about to post my stats for over 100 sessions, and just found out the app now lets you post straight to twitter and facebook - Ping are being really good with this - cant think of another company that would continue to develop what is basically free software.  Big thumbs up.

Is everyone still using the iping app?, first time with it yesterday for me and boy real eye opener, I knew I had a fairly strong arc but it was almost off the charts.
