Looking for a lighter green lizard or croc belt like House of Fleming but don't want to pay an arm and a leg. Anybody know of any other companies?

I can recommend Piedmont Leather based on the 4 excellent cash covers I've purchased.

Don't forget Patrick Gibbons Handmade.  Will Claxton rocks his gear.  Excellent stuff.  I am not familiar with Piedmont but very familiar with Jay ..... Either way you can't go wrong.

+1  I have several straps from Patrick Gibbons.  Excellent product and Patrick is great to talk to.  I'm a pain in the a$$ and Patrick has gone well above and beyond to make sure I was happy.

My son has quite a few Piedmont and a couple of House of Fleming in Lizard and Python.  If you don't want to break the bank, go with the Piedmont Lizard. They are great straps.

Here are a couple of his Piedmont Lizard straps (orange & white) with his Bettinardi Custom Buckle:
(The Piedmont straps are half the price of the HOF straps)

dplevin, there IS a difference in quality.  The HOF straps are as high a quality as you will find, no doubt.  The biggest difference is when you have the straps off, the backing leather of the HOF straps seems to be a better quality.  When the straps are on though, there is very little to no noticeable difference in the two straps. The Piedmont straps exterior look exceptional and they have held up great.  We tried a Piedmont out and since, we have bought four more in other colors. They are awesome and the wear really well.  When he needs another, for the price, we will get another Piedmont just because of the $.  If money were no object, the HOF is the way I would go, but like the OP asks, on a budget, you cant go wrong with the Piedmont.  Piedmont also made him a strap in a color that wasnt listed on their website, so it would not hurt to ask if you don's see a color you want.

Back in my day we didn't buy exotic belts or shoes, we went out and killed an alligator or rattler and made them ourselves.  You guys are wimps.

HOF will stand by their product. (will redo the belt strap as they wear out or shorten it for you)

However it is expensive (I bought 3 from them and won't be back for a while)

Piedmont product seems to held up well so I recommend

Hi Breck....that's a great review thank you. House of Fleming lizard straps are $50 more then The Skin Sorce, Piedmont or Gibbons (all made by the same company btw)....not double :)

I really like the looks of the lizard belts from Piedmont but here is my question and mini dilemma: Wouldn't a lizard belt look a little funny with athletic shoes like the TW13's? I love the shoes and really like the looks of the belt but not sure they would like each other. Just wondering what others opinions are. Thanks.

Try a custom leather by House of Fleming they should go great with the TW13's :)

^those I would rock. simple, yet nicer than normal and don't scream for attention.

The second I'm wearing a green gator belt to match my green gator cash cover, please slap me.  Different strokes I guess...

I will agree that there is a difference in quality from HOF and Sorce Skin, Gibbons, Piedmont.  I recently got a Sorce Skin lizard and while still very nice, the HOF is still my favorite.  It is a 2 piece backing IIRC giving it a softer but thicker feel.

Here is a pic of some of mine, including a lime lizard from HOF.  All of them in the pic are HOF too.

Yes it is.... I called Nancy at HOF at the end of February this year. Asked her about any Masters greens skins and she said they didn't have anything yet. Two days later, she calls saying they got a 1 skin in to make a belt for Phil. Said they would have enough skin for another belt and a cash cover or wallet. As you can see, i jumped all over it. Love it!

Piedmont is also having an Alligator belt give away to their 1,000th order (this year).  As of a few hours ago, they were at order #986...

"Someone is going to win a one piece Alligator belt!!

We are only 14 orders away from someone winning a one piece alligator belt!!

Don't delay, orders are coming in quickly!!!!"
