A few people recommended the Zip for this 90-95 ss, low spin player. I can't find a sleeve in the Zip (only buy in 2 dozen) or the Gamer. Does anyone have good experience with both? I'm looking for straight (low spin) on driver and long irons with hop and stop approach's. I don't use spin on my chips and run around a 17 hcp.

I have played both and they are in the same ball park but the zip is much softer.  I prefer the zip but i get a little more distance with the gamer as far as spin I never got hop and stop out of either always hit and released a little bit.

My experience has been same as above.  I like the way the Zip putt much better too.

Recently got a box of the Zip.  I've only given it chipping and putting so far, but getting my first round in with them today.  I really liked everything with the V2 except putting.  I gave it a solid chance, but I just couldn't get used to it.  Putting with the zip was an easy adjustment.  Very comfortable and was able to get distance control in after just a few strokes.  As long as it isn't terrible for the rest of my game, I plan on sticking with the zip for as long as I can find them... but only today will tell.

Both are solid 3-pieces, the biggest differences is the compression and the cover. The Zip is very soft with a very soft cover also while the gamer is the opposite on both. The zip has more greenside spin while the gamer will give you a couple more yards off the tee. I have got the zip to hop and stop on full wedge pitches several times but, not on half shot chips/pitches although it still spins more than other 3-pieces. I dont game the zip cause its too soft for my s.s. but, i throw them down when the course isnt busy and luv to go flaghunting with them.

Played a full round yesterday hitting the Zip's.  Very impressed.  Putting was an easy adjustment, and I didn't have any major loss in distance off the driver.  Durability was rather impressive.  Feel off the irons was also flat out outstanding.  I ordered two more boxes with a gift card last night.  I'll likely be playing the Zip's for as long as I can keep finding them cheap, because the current prices are really just the icing on the cake.

Congrats, it sounds like you have found the ball for you and, you are right that price for such a great ball is just ridiculous.

Yup Zip is a great ball and coming in a double dozen for $25 rules as well.

Played both V2 and Zip yesterday. Found the Zip to be a better feeling and more predictable ball all around. No difference in distance. I want to try the C:25.

Actually the cover hardness is about the same for the Zip and Gamer V2. The compression is much lower on the Zip. The newer C:25 has an overall compression closer to the V2 but a way harder cover than both of these.

Played 18 with the Zip yesterday, decent distance off the tee for my slow swing.   For this price category, spin was pretty good  though a couple times ran off the green when I didn't expect it to. I think the Gamer V2 has more spin. (Edited for spelling.)

I like both of them a lot.  The Zip is softer off the irons like the Wilson 50/50. I do like most of Wilson's golf balls.   I thought I got more distance off the Gamer V2 but I crushed a drive today with a Zip.

The spin is okay on both. My view on spin is not that big a deal unless you are shoot low 80s or below that spin on iron or chip shots is overrated.    Guys shooting higher scores will ballon drives with Por V1's.  I do like the Pro V1X

I have access to almost any brand I want because the 36 hole muni always has balles in the bushes.  They are in buckets in my garage.   I really like Gamer V2 and the Zip.

I just ordered two of the Zip double dozens from Golfsmith.  I absolutely hate them.  I get better greenside spin from a Pinnacle, no joke.  The Gamer V2 is a way better ball, IMHO.  What's weird is I am a high-spin player and usually back balls up with my approaches.  The Zip releases and rolls right on through the green for me.  There are better balls for the money, namely the Top Flite D2 Feel.  But if you like the Zip, play the Zip.  To each his own...  I guess I'll just use them this winter when I don't want to use good balls.

I was looking at the TF D2+ Feel also. 15 balls for $15 is a good deal for sure.. and I do have 3 sleeves of Gamer V2s.

Just thought the Wilson Zips were a really underrated ball and I found one hell of a deal. and I couldn't pass up 24 for $20 over 15 for $15.

Zip spins too much in the wind.  Zip spins too much w/ the driver.  But...Zip feels amazing with the putter in comparison

Gamer and Zip are in same boat as far as approach shots are concerned

Gamer spins less off the driver and doesnt get AS high as the Zip in the wind

Gamer can be one hop-stopped on low chips if conditions are on your side...Zip...dont even try to stop it; it will run a little with everything

Wrong.. this ball is beautiful. Played a round just now.. shot really well. The ball did everything I needed it to. The dimples are pretty odd, but it's not an issue.

Putting was great as well. Feels good.

I'm very pleased.

I play both when I find deals.  The zip doesn't check up like a gamer. They both feel the same to me though and that's all that matters.

I've played both but prefer the Gamer.  Just feels good to me. Not too mention if you watch rockbottomgolf.com you can get great deals on the Gamer.

I just bought a double dozen of the ZIP on sale. Whats the distance like for someone with 110 swing speed? I keep hearing that higher swing speed will lose distance iwth teh zip becuase of the compression. True/false?

In my opinion, the gamer is a better all around ball.  It's more durable, spins better, and the only thing the zip may be is a few yards longer.  I couldn't tell a difference but my dad thinks the zip balls are the best in the world for distance.  He's since left them and went to the Titleist Velocity now though

Answered my own Q today, distance not bad. Best drive was out to 270ish. nearly hit the 150 marker on a 422yd par4. We wont talk about where the other drives landed, lol. Ball wont help with those hooks, hah.Distance about the same as the gamer.

I didnt like the way they putt. maybe too soft for me? Prefer the Gamer for putting. Might just need to get used to it.

Zip cover does not hold up well, scuffs to easy.  But for the price the Zip is hard to beat.  The cover is the only bad thing I can say about the ball.  I prefer the Gamer V2.

I am a fan of the Zip. All the Wilson Staff balls are decent. The prices are great.
