Well, it's still a few months away, I know, but this year I
seem to be more excited. I've read a few threads here
and there about what Ping might do and my curiosity
is getting piqued.

I pretty much sat out the last few releases but I'm thinking
this time I might do a full upgrade.

Maybe a G20 driver and 3 wood.
Maybe a G20 hybrid (if they're not ugly)
Maybe some i20 or G20 irons.

I  even wonder what the color scheme is going to be.

I guess I really have the full on disease now. And they
don't really engage in marketing hype. At least not so
far.

Go PING!

I hear rumors of PING throwing out the i series for irons? And also *RUMORS* of G series leaving as well and being completely replaced by K series. Anyone have the skinny on this???

I think they should eliminate the i series. Then take the Anser series irons, cast them out of 8620 and then hit them with a forging hammer (pressure/form forging). That way they can still call them "forged" but they can also drop the price down to $799 for 8 clubs thus replacing the i series.

Then Ping should come out with an adjustable driver. It only makes sense because Ping preaches custom fitting and that's the best way to fit a driver.

WHy does someone my age  (64) start thinking about  this stuff every two years. I wonder how many Ping fans on this forum would be incredible testimonials for Ping.
They would not have to pay me, just give me the new stuff. Great idea on the Anser irons. They would sell out in a week. I'm still playing I5's, but I hit the Ansers at a demo day. First chance I get they're 'in the bag'. I wonder how a G-20 ??? Driver is going to be better than my G-15. We'll see soon.

In the same boat. Heading to a Ping fitting event next week.

Here are my thoughts, how can they possibly do better than the G15 line??? I would be perfectly happy with the G15 line at this moment.

As a PING "lifer", my bag is already scheduled for a new set of irons in 2012.

There are still a few good shots left in my i-3 Blades! :)

That's one of the great things about Ping.  There stuff is so good, you can buy it anywhere in the product cycle and not feel like you are missing out.  I got my i5's at the very end of their product cycle and don't feel like i"m missing a thing playing them.  I tried the i10's and i15's, but I just prefer the i5's more.  I still prefer my G5 hybrid...but I was all over the G15 driver and fairway woods.

I hope Ping just stays away from the adjustable drivers, I still haven't hit one I actually liked. They already have it where you can order your driver to the exact specs you want from pingwrx.  They all seem gimicky to me, and I honestly think you sacrifice alot  of feel with the adjustable hosel.

I also have the i5's and have no intention of changing any time soon. I use the original Rapture 3 and 4 irons, then i5 5 - PW. Very solid irons. I can't imagine any new set by any manufacture being any better. I do mix it up once in a while by playing one of my set of blades, but the Pings are my gamers. You can't go wrong with any of their irons, they perform and that's all that really matters. I have been lucky enough to see the inside of Ping and the Tour Dept and everything they do is Top Notch (as Judge Smells would say). Heck... I still have my ISI Tec fairway woods, nothing can seem to knock them out of the bag. They (Ping) make quality gear that lasts.....

I've bought S56's, Ansers, 3 Tour S wedges, and a G15 4 wood all this year and can't wait for the new stuff.

Hoping new driver can kick the Rapture V2 out of the bag.

Maybe a new Redwood style putter too :)

My wish would be that they just make the starshot a standard finish instead of one that you have to go through WRX for.

But I do realize why this is unlikely - people will look at it and ask why they should pay that much for something that looks to the unknowing like a Karsten without the medallion.

Been playing Pings for 25+ years and have played every iron they have made. Wish they go back to solid stainless steel heads with no plastic inserts. Now playing I5's but had Ping put KBS tours in my old eye 2 + no + irons and nothing feels better to me than the eye2's.Maybe someday will we see the Eye 2++'s  cast in the USA.

That Tour Dept is nice innit...to heck with Disneyland, that's the happiest place on earth!  When I was there in December, had my clubs adjusted next to Danny Summerhays and Rhys Davies.  Very cool stuff, love the products and the staff there aswell.

I love ping stuff! I have been a ping player for the last 3 years. I have the g10 driver, 4 wood, and a karsten craz-e. I played i10's for a season, and they were awesome. I really want anser irons, but i am unable to afford them at this time. I hope to get some by the end of the summer or next year. Keep my fingers crossed.

Have an Anser 4 iron on order right now :o)

Have the custom wrx S56's from 5-PW and a Ping Tour S rustique gap W with wrx grinds

Rotate a rapture J 3 iron in and out with an old Tm 21* hybrid (oh the humanity) and a rapture v1 7 wood with a Fuji Pro 95x

Also can't shake a Tisi Tec fwy 5 wood I have in a S10 hosel with a speeder 952 x in it (NO NEED FOR A 3 wood)

... IN FACT I just snagged a Ti3 17* in mint shape from ebay yesterday with a Flat hosel config :o) .. gotta have a backup !!!!!

I rotate two 10.5* drivers ... a Rapture v1 with a Fuji Kamo 660TR in X and a Rapture v2 with a Whiteboard 63x

Only outliers are the Scotty limited Del Mar buttonback putter, the oil can 58M TVD SW and the 62* LW oilcan vokey
