I could shoot like, 90, and lower my handicap.
Wow! Medinah Course Rating: 78.1, Slope: 151 PGA championship

Before anyone gets too offended, I prefer Winged Foot East over The West. More fun, better greens, better variety of holes. Obviously, The West is harder.

Derek your such a smart guy, yesterday it looked like the PGA was just putting a very straightforward golf course out there to see what the guys would fire. Factor in growing rough, crusty greens, pins on the edge of hell, weather, and major pressure and I think in the end the course will be pretty tough at the end. Watching yesterday aside from sheer length I did not think the golf course looked very hard. I think that if this rain sticks around you will see the list of contenders get very small and the scores could get pretty low, I believe unlike the USGA the PGA will play lift, clean, and place. I don't care how long or hard a golf course is that makes it a lot easier.

I think that the #3 course is easily the best course, though the #1 course is also very nice. I would be interested to hear what other ten courses you would play before Medinah which is usually ranked in the top 15 nationally.

Honestly, there are probably 1000. I am not good enough to enjoy tree lined championship golf. I would guess that Medinah is fun from the members tees and reasonable rough.
I have probably played 9 or 10 of the courses ranked ahead of Medinah on the Golf Digest list that has Medinah at #15, and given the chance to repeat a round at those or Medinah, I would pass on Medinah.
No real interest in Pinehurst either, which has firm greens, but they appear to be goofy greens.
Based on reputation, in Chicago, I would rather play Shoreacres, CGC, Black Sheep, Bob O'Link, Briarwood. Not saying they should be ranked higher for Golf Digest criteria, just saying they seem more fun.

It is truly amazing how good these guys really are. Unless a course has super fast sloping greens or the wind really blows, a lot of them will just rip it up no matter the yardage or height of the rough. It seemed everyone was throwing darts at those pins today.
