While Caddyshack is a great movie and one of my favorites.  The best golf movie of all time is Dead Solid Perfect.

People actually said they like Tin Cup better than this movie on this site...sweet Jesus, what has happened to this world? Entertaining? Yes. Classic? Hell no.

Haven't seen Dead Solid Perfect in a looong while, but don't remember it as any kind of competition to Caddyshack.

Murray, Dangerfield, and the hot chick (never did anything else I remember, but she KILLED that role. Sexy girl) give any other golf movie a stroke a hole. Throw in gophers and Chevy and its not a contest, lol.

Someone says The Greatest Game movie is better than the book on this site and all hope in humanity is officially lost.

I've always loved Caddyshack, and it certainly has contributed a significant number of quotable one-liners to golfers everywhere--a very mixed blessing, in my opinion--but I have to say that I never even thought of golf as all that important to the movie.

Greatest? Quite possibly. When else are you going to get that kind of comedic talent together for one movie where the stars get to ad-lib parts of the movie, it works out hysterically, AND it even throws in a little golf.  I'll watch it a couple of times a year, never gets old.

I think Caddyshack has to be nominated for the greatest comedy ever.  If it is not, it has to be in the conversation.  Every scene is packed with great jokes.  It just never stops.

I don't see how any other golf movie can even be close.  Unless you have something against laughing.

Best golf comedy but I think I've watched it too many times. I'd rather watch Tin Cup. I wish they'd make another where he doesn't blow up like a tard.

They get to the green and it is announced that the match is all square
Dr Beeper misses and presumably 2 putts
Ty Webb misses and 2 putts leaving it all square
Judge Smails pulls out Billy Barroo and drains it
Danny then one putts after Ty says dont worry Danny if you miss it we lose
Every one then celebrates the victory for Danny/Ty when in fact isnt the match still all square?

I've been asking that question for years without a good answer from anyone as to how the match is anything other than square.   Plus, Al's offer to the Judge was "double or nothing".    So, even if Noonan's putt was for birdie and legit, why would the Judge and Doctor Beeper owe Al and Ty anything?   We can only assume the Judge probably got the snot beat out of him by Moose and Rocco for nothing while he was trying to explain Rule 16-2.

Let's all go to the Judge's office, open up a Fresca,  and figure this out.

I believe we answered this earlier, as the bet was double or nothing that Noonan made the putt, but from a logical standpoint it still doesnt add up as Smails and Beeper would have either won with a miss or halved the match with a make and at worst broken even presuming they did not play extra holes. Either way it was not a smart bet for Smails and Beeper.

IMO, Caddy Shack just beats out Tin Cup and Caddy Shack 2 just plain sucked.

I think this was a quote from the 1st Caddy Shack, "isn't bar tending considered skilled labor for an Italian?"

Im torn on #2 because Chevy still had some great lines, but not having Dangerfield killed it. If Ty's line of "have you ever seen a crisp $50 bill" was in the first one it would still be quoted all the time.

It's an alright comedy, but a poor "golf" movie.

I would easily place Tin Cup, Legend of Bagger Vance, and The Greatest Game Ever Played ahead of Caddyshack as far as golf movies go.

Why would it be removed from the movie? Really? I mean I get it is an off color racist joke but should we really go back in time and censor every book and movie with a similar tone? Considering the time it was borderline correct because the n word was not used.
