Ever since the Scott Peterson trial and conviction, I find it best not to play golf on Thanksgiving or Christmas Eve and Day.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and all my other friends here a Happy Thanksgiving.   I know I have a lot for which to be thankful.  That includes my friends and golf partners from this forum.  I'm thankful that I know you guys.

We don't want to see the return of Clint Longley (who became my hero later for punching Roger Staubach).

A couple years ago, I played in the Timbers at Troy Thanksgiving morning scramble.  it was supposed to start at 8:30, but we had about an hour frost delay.  I had promised SWMBO that I would be home by 2:00 in time to get showered and changed and on the way to our 3:00 dinner reservations.

I had set a deadline of leaving the course at 1:30, and at that time, we were on the 15th hole.  So I did what any seasoned GolfWrx'er would do.  I wrote down   par, par, par, par for the last 4 holes and headed home

I haven't played in it since, but yesterday sure would have been a nice day to play.

TerpHack...I left the house this moring at 7:15 and there was lots of frost out there, so I'm  sure you were delayed, but hope you enjoy the round anyway.  It's late November and you're playing golf.  Can't complain too much.

Beating the Cowboys can make a season for a Skins fan.   It was great to see the Skins put down the Cowboys like a ten dollar hooker at a Duke party.

I played at clustered spires thanksgiving morning, and the pace was superb. They did a shotgun start at 9am, but we were delayed until about 9:20 due to frost. We finished our round in a little less than 4 hours. I don't think there's any reason it should take more than 4 hours to play a round, but 4.5 hours at UMd really isn't that bad. Sadly, we've entered a time where 5 hour rounds of golf are normal

just got back from the Links at Gettysburg Turkey Tourney. We shot a 64, with no decent putts made. The course was in great shape but the greens....well thats a different story. They must have aerated recently, cause they never grew in, and were very sandy. The same line/putt would break two different ways depending if you hit a hole or not. Really bad. Winner's shot a 58 which is impressive for the greens. great weather, great friends, and free Sam Adams Oktoberfest when you make the turn.

We also got delayed.  9am was the start time but it was really cold in the morning.  5 hour rounds are normal, but the group in front of us was just really slow.  After the first hole, they just fell behind and never caught up.  I think they were behind at least 1.5 holes.  It just felt longer than usual, I guess I was trying to rush home to catch the games and start grubbing lol.

wonder how our old friend shterp took the game...hope he didn't hurt himself!!!  our resident dallas fan showed up today in tiger woods colors...no star on his hat.....he just said "how about those cowboys, grinned and took it like a man".

I still wish hall had made the touchdown instead of stopping.

interesting thing happened...I found 3 of those old things you look thru to see a picture...key chain size..sold at national parks, etc...(fefore ipads, etc.)...the girl had taken pictures of my set up, backswing and follow through.....they looked like a golf digest article and I remember how well I used to hit my driver....so I studied the pictures, saw that I used to put the club closer to the palm in the right hand, etc....I tried it today and won 2nd net, 2 skins.....of course, that will last one round..

As I predicted, I must congratulate your respective institutions on their recent victories over my Wahoos.  While we may be losers, as a Wahoo, I remain a Virginia Gentleman and as such must congratulate you.  And now, they want to add more institutions to the ACC that will kick our butts.  How can a Wahoo get any respect. I guess we will just keep recruiting Marylanders for our lacrosse team. With the potential that Maryland may leave the ACC, that might be a bit easier.

Christmas came a little early this year.  I stopped at the Golfsmith in Fairfax on Rt50, near Rt29.  Picked up a "preowned" Tour Edge XCG3 3 wood and Odyssey White Hot XG #7 (fang), used my $20 off coupon so my total was $105 for both.  the Odyssey even has a Super Stroke Slim on it which I want to try to hopefully get rid of my Ovechkin slap putting stroke

The way things are going, UVA may snap the losing streak in the next couple years!  I don't know why Mike London didn't take a timeout to stop the clock at the end.  It would seem like giving his team some time with the ball at the end would be better than icing our kicker twice on a chip shot field goal.  The ACC would look even worse than it already does if we had lost that game and not been bowl eligible.

Don't hold your breath for any coaching changes, gregh729.  As we've seen, Beamer's idea of "shaking things up" is letting the offensive coordinator keep his job and sit in the booth, while letting somebody else actually use the headset to call in the plays.

You have to admire his loyalty.  He and Freidgen are real close friends.  Time to get the fridge down to Blacksburg.  Fridge was a good recruiter and a great coordinator.  So-so head coach.  His current guys can still be position coaches.  I think Fridge's salary could be paid by what I paid in tuition for my 2 kids to go there out of state LOL

The XCG3 is a great FW line. That's a nice find. And that GS is less than a mile from my house. I need to stop in sometime to scour the racks again. The racks of used clubs, that is.
