So we did a thread like this a few years ago and it was a lot of fun....It's interesting to see whose posts everyone enjoys and so forth

So here's my question. Let's say you won a contest that got you a free round at say, Cypress Point. But you had to pick 3 guys from this site who you've never actually met in person (so, no picking your buddy who's also a member here!). Who would you pick?????

i'll start it off, but it was difficult....i'll go with:

TCMP: Probably talk more about my foolish purchases with him than anyone else here (and vice versa i'm guessing).
KG78 (or whatever his name is that day): Without a doubt the poster boy for Golfwrx. It would be like talking women with Wilt Chamberlain. Is there a club he hasn't hit? Plus we could talk football or basketball
Dizz: I would probably spend the whole round trying to make him mad. Because he's always so damn rational and his arguments well founded even in the face of idiocy. Cmon what's your secret? No one joins an internet forum to be rational buddy!

some tough leave-offs....Sorry if i forgot anyone! Freshprince would be an alternate for sure (if KG couldn't make it due to a club buyers anonymous meeting for example).

Plus we could play a pretty solid match i think, though Dizz may have to give some shots....

This one could get interesting.  Can't think of any off the top of my head, but I wouldn't mind finding some guys in Connecticut to play with.

At this point, anyone, because only a WRXer would be crazy enough to go out in the 20* sunshine to play 18 in the Wisconsin winter.

I wouldn't play with any WRXer. Wouldn't want anybody here to find out I can't fly it 320 like everybody else...  :busted2:  :cheesy:

Hrmmm..

I'd like to play with:

easyyy- Because I'd like to pick his brain on how he chooses his clubs for a round because he has SO DAMN MANY.

Dizz- Because we'd look awesome as hell with our 910/710 gear, and because it seems we think alike on many threads here, aside from Titleist junk.

Mr. Parranoid- Because the guy seems real cool, but he's all over the place sometimes and keeps you on your toes. I need someone to remind to just hit the damn ball, because there is no pressure... Or is there? ;)

MTLJeff -

Pepperturbo - I've never seen a 60 year old man hit a 2 iron 225 yards uphill...

Dizz - Because I want to see him fight pepperturbo

I am nowhere near rational in real life.  Anybody I know in person would probably tell you as much.

My pics would be

1.RookieBlue7- He seems like a real good guy and straight shooter and GAVE me some iron heads to build up a set for a junior golfer in my area. People who are willing to give to the less fortunate are top-notch in my opinion

2.  Beruo- I love going into the BST ad help section and reading his replies to people who can't seem to read/understand the simple rules. I like his bluntness, and how he just says what he feels lol. Would be a pretty fun round!

3. FairwayFred- I would love to pick his brain on the scratch stuff. Oh and hopefully he might let me hit one of those sweet scratch irons hand ground by DW cuz god knows I will never be able to afford them and the blades are oh so pretty :man_in_love:

Phew, so many intersting people here to choose from.

tembolo1284, because we could have a really interesting multi-lingual conversation in English, German and Portuguese, teaching each other on the way (which has happened in PMs before).
freshprince99, because I have read many posts from him that were very insightful, and because he seems to be fun.
Sawgrass and Newby, because their knowledge of the RoG amazes me to no end.
And Pepperturbo, because it should be very interesting to really meet the man.
Sadly, mat562 seems to have left us (too much stupid Westwood bashing going on on the site, perhaps?), because he would have been a no-brainer.

But, the problem with all of those is that they probably play the game so much better than I do, so I would be scared to death to embarass myself when teeing it up with anyone. Which is why I would have to stick with any combination out of the group of iteach, CMartingolf, kevcarter, mikpga, MonteScheinblum and martinez, so that the outing could be called a "playing lesson". That would be great.

here's what you need to know for Montreal massage parlors and gentleman's clubs:

-t'est sur que t'as dix-huit ans?
(you are sure you're 18?)

-cette establisement appartiennent à des motards? Si oui, OK je paye pour plus de chanson que j'ai vraiment pris
(does this bar belong to the bikers? If so, OK fine i will pay for more songs than i really got)

-soyez doux, j'ai été récemment tabassé par la police après un match de hockey
(be gentle, i was recently beaten up by the police after a hockey game)

-Je ne payez que pour ce qui a été parti de la négociation d'origine
(i will only pay for what was part of the original negociation)

-si vous m'arrêtez, vous aurez cinq heures de documents, si vous ne m'avez pas arrêté, il y une cinquantaine  pour vous, Plus je vais pas dire à personne que vous étiez dans la cabine à côté de moi
(if you arrest me you'll have five hours of paperwork, if you don't arrest me there's a fifty in it for you, plus i won't tell anyone you were in the stall next to me)

I'd pick DrPino for sure because he deserves free golf and stuff for all the hard work he does on the BST seeking out folks that don't do what they should in transactions.

Gotta put a vote in for some guys I've had great dealings and PM's with.

Cangolfnut
Jankytilter
BCULAW

Love talking golf with these guys and I know their taste in equipment is similar to mine.  Plus they all live somewhere different so.... more golf courses to see.

thanks for the alternate spot jeff! obviously id like to pick isaacbm because hes a good friend but since its people we havent met i gotta go with:

mtljeff - the dude is hilarious!

tembolo - all around nice guy who loves the game, we could spend a few hours talking about snead and hogan and old macgregor blades!

fats - hands down the coolest septegenarian i know! and the whole gandhi thing kills me!

tons of alternate picks though, there are a whole bunch of people on here i would love to share a tee time with, soonermagic makes me laugh, i enjoy dizz, never a dull moment with pepperturbo, davepelz is a good guy, and so many more that i could spend the next hour listing them!

sorry about the alternate spot, Freshprince...as a fellow canuck i probably owe you a bit better. It was a tough call. I'm sure Cypress would let us go out as a fivesome....

good call on Mat562 everyone, where has he been???

and now that i think about it,  i remember OpusX20 and there was another guy named like RLMB32 or something, who both posted a lot and always were good reads. Haven't seen them around much these days either

I'd say iteach because he took one look at my swing and got me back on track.

KevCarter because he's been flatline cool since his first post.

I've played a with a probably 20+ guys here from the Tristate area, one midwesterner on a layover, one now regular NASCAR lovin' three toothed North Carolinian who moved to CT (you know who you are)  :friends:, and one Canuck and had a lot of fun.

OK OK my third choice in Beruo. If I don't say his name he may cry himself to sleep like a pre-teen girl.

I would play with FairwayFred, Dizz, and probably freshprince99. FF because maybe he can get me some scratch clubs :) and ask him how to run a golf business because this is what i want to do after college possibly. Dizz because he has the sickest titleist clubs on golfwrx. Freshprince99 because his posts are hilarious, and he seems to know alot about the game, and equipment. I dont know many other Juniors on wrx, would any of you play with some of the juniors on wrx?

Hey, now.  Ain't nothing wrong with a good cry before going to sleep.  It's good for the soul, especially when you've got all these emotions bottled up inside you with nobody wanting to listen.

As for me, there's tons of awesome people on this board who I'd love to get a round in with.  Except the silly geese who listed me in this thread.  Seriously, what's wrong with you people?  Only three people and you pick me?  Way to shoot for the bottom.

I'm actually happy no one wants to play with me. I like playing alone because it's easier to claim a lower score that way.

I would choose Mat562. I know he was to have a shoulder surgery, that was a kinda big thing. I also know he is a Bobby(policeman), and hope he hasnt gotten hurt in some way. He and I have had some nice PM conversations.

My second and third choice would be Blade Man ie,, Frankie, and Swing the Club ie, Ken.

Blade Man and I have the same teacher, albeit at different times. And Swing the Club was a golf pro back in the days, before technology.

Sure it would be a great time.

as someone who plays regularly with Tembolo1284, i can say that he is a super nice dude and a joy to play with. so you guys are spot on with picking him (and now i feel like i'm dating a celebrity or something).

as for me, honestly, i want to play with the 3 most consistently antagonistic and immature posters on WRX because it would be refreshing when i find out they actually aren't anywhere near as ridiculous in real life as they are online.

my faith in humanity restored.
