Usually every two years they wear out. I bought a Ping Under 4 in black  2 seasons ago. I'm looking at a Ogio Sprint now, I really like the top divider and its a good weight at only 3.9lbs. I think it will be my 2012 bag. I've been getting a little tired moving my stuff over to a C-130 when i play with guys that ride. I might just use the Ogio unless its a scramble or something where i need more storage (cooler)

Just bought a Ping Series 4 bag to replace my 3 yr old SM 3.5. The SM was red--now it's almost pink because of it fading from the sun. The SM is a great bag. Just wanted to try something different. I like the idea of the Ping's shoulder pads being able to adjust.

I have an original Ping Hoofer i saved up for when i was 15 and i am still gaming it now and i am 28. The age old saying of they don't make them like the used to is right with these bags as the new hoofers are Parp!

Question: How often?

Answer:  too often.

I admit I am a stand/carry bag ho.

Always on the look out for the ultimate carry bag.

Very pleased to report that I once wore the straps off a sun mountain stand bag by playing a lot of golf.

Also pleased that I played enuf golf one season to have the colour on my Titty superlight bag fade from a strong masculine orange to a very questionable salmon/pink colour.  that bag still worked great but got retired because of the funny faded colour.

Just bought my first ever Ping stand bag and I am pleased to read all the posts here about how durable they are.

for the first 35 years I played, I owned at most 3 bags...lately, it seems I buy one about every other year...although this year I'm on my second one in 4 months due to manufacturing defect on a main seam!  ARG!  I'm going back to Sun Mountain - can't beat the quality.  I also had great luck with Ping for many years but I'm not favoring the designs lately.

I like to get new bags when there's a really good deal on one.. Probably a really bad idea when I don't get rid of my old ones

I like the layout of my 10+ year old ping bag.  I bought a new one about 5 years ago for a second set of clubs and never liked the pocket layout.  The zippers are starting to go so I may go to my newer bag.  I have found that I don't really care what the bag looks like as long as it meets my needs.  That is kind of ironic considering I usually wear ironed slacks with matching hat and shirt combo, polished shoes, and have nice equipment.  I wonder what that says about me?

I have a few ping bags in the attic that I could still be playing with.  I think a lot of the new bags feel sort of cheap, maybe they just want you to only get a year out of them so you have to buy a new one.

Like golf clubs I tend to buy bags on a regular basis, but I now have this Ping Hoofer I can't seem to get rid of. It has this retractable strap that make it really easy to just throw on one shoulder when you have a short walk. The dual straps are comfortable too.

If I do take a cart, the legs don't get in the way and the bag fits nice and snug in the cart.

4-5... When they fall apart.
If ping ever puts a better divider system in the hoofer I'll switch immediately.

I have a problem...I just pulled the trigger on the 2012 hoofer.  My total is now at 9 in the last 5 years after using one for almost 15 years.  Hopefully I can control my wondering eye...always looking for something better.

In 30 years of golfing I have only owned 2.5 bags.

I bought the new Sun Mountain Speed Cart Bag for my new speedcart that I bought the first year the speed cart came out.  I think it was in 1999.  So far so good.  I almost bought a new bag this winter, but decided I didn't need one.  My bag lives in the trunk of my car and I only play about 40x/ yr, but it still works.  The only reason I had to buy it because the first bag I ever owned was decimated by a leaky bug spray bottle, the bug spray ate through the pockets and the bottom began to fall off.

When I travel, I take a canvas Sunday bag that my grandfather bought before I was born.  I guess it is 50 years old.  This is my .5 bag since I own it but rarely use it.

Cant see why someone would buy a new bag if the one they have still holds their clubs.

I used to get a new one every year or 2 but I love the bag my wife got me a couple years ago for my birthday so I'll keep on using it until it needs to be replaced.

every 2-3 years, that usually how long it takes to wear them to the point I can justify buying another. But since Ping changed their shoulder strap i may be dragging this one out longer.Well c

Will buy until i find something i like no way to tell without actually using them, this year so far i have had a Callaway warbird stand bag, Nike sport cart bag and Adidas AG tour stand bag.

Have now sold the Callaway and Nike. Adidas i will probably keep for a couple of years, great bag to carry but still has the space to use on the push cart if all waterproofs etc are required, it will just depend how long it holds up as i generally play 6 times a week even if its just 9 holes.

i always match my bags with the majority of the brand i carry..

i had callaways for a long time(15 years+) but even then i upgrade my bag to a newer model every 2 or 3 years but not necessarilly the clubs..

i now have 3 sets-2 adams and 1 bridgestone/tourstage--in rotation and have bought the following bags in the last 2 years:

..2011 model bridgestone tour bag(sold)......2011 model bridgestone tour stand bag......2010 model adams mini-staff tour bag(got this pre-owned)......2012 adidas AG tour stand bag.......2012 adams mini-staff tour bag......generic range stand bag(just arrived yesterday)....

all were purchased brand new except for one..

PS..i also have 2 other bags for storing extra clubs..

I'd guess every 3 or so years.  I have one Sun Mountain carry that is 4 years old, but I think I've only used it a half dozen times.  I just retired my Sun Mountain SCB after 4 years, but it is still in pretty darn good shape, as is an old Datrek cart bag.
