I put down once every 5 years, but it's probably like once every 10 years. I can count that I've had 5 cart bags in my life, and have been playing for about 45 years and usually have always taken a power cart when I play. I play about 50 rounds per year so I get a lot of bang for the buck out of my bags. Right now I am using a Sun Mountain Sync bag that is probably my favorite of all. Doesn't anybody think a bag can last 10 years? Oh that's right, WRX.

My current bag is a cart bag and easy to remember,(for me) when I purchased it a few years back on a Veterans Day Sale.
Purchase price was $111.11 and purchased on 11/11/11. Bag still in good shape.

I can only recall 3 bags in the span of 20+ years. Current bag is a Callaway Warbird stand bag from 2008. Replaced legs once and still going strong!

I used a blue Sun Mountain stand bag (no model number on it) for about 10 years. It got a little beat up and torn up on the inside and clubs wouldn't slide in and out when I played. So, I got a blue Sun Mountain Three 5 stand bag as a replacement about 2012. I'm still using it.

(The original SunM bag now holds miscellaneous clubs not in my game bag.)

I got a super bargain on a TaylorMade stand bag this summer, which contains my backup set of TaylorMade clubs.

Three other bags contain heritage sets of clubs.

I completely agree with this. I've been playing for about 15 years and have had 2 bags (replaced the first bag around 10 years).

I got the Ping Hoofer around 5 years ago, and still looks like it has another 5 years left.

Last summer I bought a new Bag Boy Revolver online without seeing it in person first (usually not a good idea). I tried to like it but I found it inconvenient. I thought it was just too bulky and a tight squeeze when paired on a cart with another cart bag. I also found it to be too top heavy (when using the shoulder strap) and the putter clips poked me in the ribs when carrying to the car. The clubs locked in place nicely and it was great not to hear any iron chatter but after twenty years of just reaching around for the right club, I would often find myself forgetting to even spin the revolving top which is the bag's main selling point. LOL! I also don't need a cooler pocket that holds nine 12oz cans. I think a smaller cooler plus another small useful pocket would been better suited. Anyway, I now bought a 2017 Sun Mountain C130-S. This bag I like! I walk and ride so I can carry it (only one pound heavier than my old Datrek carry bag), use on a push cart, and it fits great on riding carts. Sometimes when it's cart paths only, and I have to walk far across, I prefer to take the bag with me and then  just walk up to the green. The only thing missing is a Velcro patch to hang a glove (no biggie). It also seems to be very well built.

I used my last bag (Ogio grom stand bag) for almost 4 years. Just switched to a Jones Utility bag in the fall since I wanted something a little lighter and more compact.

I thought initially that this was a stupid topic. I mean you buy a new bag when your old one wears out right? Now I find myself buying a new bag every year.

Still using a Callaway FT-3 Staff bag from when they first came out. I see a lot of hate on players with Staff Bags but with the quality of the product, i can"t think about using anything else

I bought a Sun Mountain 3.5 in 2011 that still worked perfectly until I replaced it last season with a Ping Hoofer. I probably average 5-6 years in between bags assuming good quality.

Guys was wondering if you knew of newer stand bag that has a good size beverage holder (for like 3 or 4 tall cans). I have an 6 or 8 year nike vapor bag that is great, however it's quite heavy without the beverages lol. Appreciate any insight... looking for like a 2017 bag. 14 club divider would be nice but bot necessary.

Cheers,

Paul

I am slightly obsessed with the perfect Sunday style golf bag.  I use it to carry all 14 clubs, some balls, tees, range finder, wallet & phone.   Currently using an original Jones bag and it feels like the right size for all things needed and no fluff.  works great when on a golf cart as well.   I am always looking on eBay or other second hand sports stores for cheap Sunday style bags.  currently have 7 bags.  old school Ping L8 bags are always a buy when I see one for cheap.

I buy a new stand bag every year then donate the older one to whatever local high school has the closest color combo to what I have.

Had a total of five bags since starting golf in 1983, first was a hand me down from my dad, then dad bought me my own bag which I still have in my shed somewhere, bought a heavy pull cart bag which I got rid of soon after my dad passed away. Friend gave me a Mizuno bag which I still have in the same shed 2000km from here. Bought the Sun Mountain cheap just to see me through and hoping to get a season opener or major theme bag for a major won by a South African

I settled on a bag 4 years ago bc it was a good deal. SM.

I bought a new one this year that is perfect in everyway so I'll probably keep this one until something breaks.

Motocaddy Pro Series in blue. Absolutely stunning bag, great quality and all the functionality you'd ever want. I initially went for the Callaway Org 14 but if wouldn't stay upright when stored which is a ridiculous design oversight for the money they charged for it.

The Motocaddy was slightly more expensive but it is superior in every way and the 14 full length dividers hold up well. For this season the putter well now takes Superstroke grips comfortably. They weren't bad before just a shade tight.

Barring any issues with the airline this year this bag should last 3 seasons or so.

Unfortunately my Wilson Staff Nexus 3 didn't survive Virgin Atlantic's cargo hold last year.
