I needed a low launch low spin shaft and this fits the bill. I have tried whiteboards and pro launches, project xs, and myasaki black and this is the only shaft that has not only brought down my ball flight but hits long knuckle balls that just hang in the air.  SS around 110 with high backspin most of the time like high 3000 range.  I have not hit his combo on a monitor but I know it's launching a little high but the spin is very much lower then my normal.  I usually hit very low lofted clubs (8.5) degree but I wanted a long straight driver.  Put a oban devotion 7 in a ping g15 cut to 45" 9 degree head and I can't be happier.  Longest straightest driver I have ever had.  I can swing out of my shoes with this club and the ball goes where I tell it too.

Big fan of the Oban line up. The Devotion may be the most user friendly to the widest range of players. Very sweet shaft.

It's been hit and miss for me with this shaft. Some of the drivers I have acquired on BST have worked great and others not so well. I tend to hit a little too low with it (100 MPH) swing speed sometimes so I've wondered if some shafts are tipped. Overall I think it's a pretty good shaft and would like to try the Revenge line in my fairway wood.

I have a Devotion in my R11 and it baloons very badly for me. Not sure of the specifics but it's the 75ish gram in X flex. The driver is set on neutral 9*. My swing speed is pretty high, above 115. It will carry forever but it checks up like a lob wedge. Any suggestions as I'm clueless to clubfitting.

Don't understand that, at "75ish" that would be the Devo 7 which should be the lowest of the lot.

Have you verified it's not the head (i.e. try different shafts in that head and that shaft in different heads to see where the problem lies)?

anyone know how much i need to tip a devotion 7 in a 3 wood and a devotion 8 hyb in a 21 degree hybrid?  i have untipped hyb shaft and an untipped 7 on the way for the 3 wood.  i'd like it to play true to flex.  i have the stock tm hd6 tipped .5 inch in my driver, and fubuki tipped .75 (standard tipping per website) in my 5 wood and love the feel and performance of both.

What's up with the OBAN lineup in relation to comparably priced after-market options? Esp. the Kiyoshi? Any personal insight would be appreciated as I've already been over their website. Thanks.

The Devotion is the best deal in shafts hands down! For me it's mid launch and mid spin. I've had atleat 10 clubs with the Devo installed and will add to that list!

Just put the devotion 6 04 in my R11...Awesome shaft! I am a high ball/spin hitter, swing speed 105-108 ball speed usually around 150mph with a stock shaft...I haven't gotten this on a monitor yet but took it to the course I get a mid-high launch when I go after it but the ball seems to carry forever so compared to the old ball flight I can tell the spin is down dramatically...with stock shafts the ball seemed to reach the apex then fall out the sky like a shot duck but not with this shaft...I've got some tweaking to do so I will update when I get to a monitor and finish the tweaks

If you want a shaft that is smooth, provides extra distance, and consistent ball flight and your swing speed is similar to mine this is a great shaft to try...I am trying to find a 7 or an 8 to put in my 3w

That's what I thought as well. Put a stiff 7 in my 3 wd and increase in spin and launch were noticeable. Switched to an x tipped 1.25 inches and much better flight. At least for me it was a higher launch/spin shaft.

My son hit his Ping G15 7.5 degree head with Oban Devotion 6 03 regular flex cut to 45.5 inches today for the 1st time.   Great ball flight, mid launch with good roll.  He tends to be a high ball flight hitter and this combo keeps the height down.  Very satisfied.
